Hmm. I've just made the (mobile) Logisitics Support Vehicle. It's a converted Rhino, unsuprisingly. But what to call it?

This mod looks absolutely awesome, i was just wondering if you had an idea which races you were planning/hoping to include?

Space Marines vs Chaos for now (mainly because most of the chaos units are the same as the Space Marine ones, but with spikes on).

Other races need melee support really to work well (Tau would simply massacre everything without their primary weakness, for example, and the Tyranids wouldn't last five minutes)

Oh and another reason for Chaos is that the filesize of the very first Epic Legions sdz was 666kb (I'm not kidding - it actually was!)

EDIT:

Hmm. I'm encountering a slight snag with the logistical support vehicle

I have no idea why (having spend the better part of two hours trying to fix it), but for some reason it refuses to let itself be built. Red squares throughout. I can get ingame using the .give command - it drives around fine and everything but the builder units won't build it!

If anyone else wants to have a shot at fixing this, the latest sdz is here (this is a mirror from Smoth's site! Do not use unless you plan to try fixing the issue. It's hardly playable anyway) http://cs.selu.edu/~ssmith/BB/download.php?id=194

Ignore the unit descriptions, they're stand-ins. Oh and the build times are really short. Sorry about that. It's not balanced at all and Chaos has about 5 units. And the side-icons are shite (1 minute paint job!).

Other than that, it's all good good buddy! (That's a Kill Bill quote, for those who don't recognise it)

When I was working on my mod (which has been discontinued/suspended indefinatly due to lack of help and greater interest in other projects) I recall having a similar problem. Now I am having difficulty recalling what caused it (and I don't have a login/permission to get the file) but I believe it had to do with the slope of the unit not being tolerant enough for it to build.
Well there is my shot in the dark any way :P

Oh for fucks sake.

I just tried again to fix the logistics vehicle. I basically copied the Rhino's (the rhino will build) fbi TO THE LETTER (with copy and paste) changing nowt but the name...

No worky

Must be the script or something

EDIT: It isn't. What the hell is it? ARRRGH!

EDIT: Seriously? What in the name of all that is good and merciful is going on?

I'm gonig to melt my monitor with white hot rage at this rate! Spring will be the death of me!

No. It has 2x2 footprint. Also: MaxSlope=140;

EDIT: The really annoying thing is that this happened with the bikes before, but I can't remember how I fixed them...

I fixed it! I fixed it! La la la la!

/me does his "I fixed it!" dance

Changed MaxSlope down 40 (from 140) and it works! 140 must be over the max the maxslope variable can have (which makes sense really. >90 is concave, and Spring can't handle that, so...)

About three. You can think of it like this;

If I can decapitate an enemy with my mind at two meters and they are two meters tall, and they are as tall as my brother, then I can decapitate an enemy with my mind at six feet because by brother is six feet tall.

Or you can just think of meters as slightly longer yards.

So Space Marines should be two-and-a-half meters tall (round abouts)?

YES! They are supposed to be badass... Don't make me show you what they should be like in my mod! Cuz I will, if I ever get it up... Its horribly slow... I'll get it someday! 3 Months and I am trying to make that ass play...

Using AA as a dependency, it won't work though...

About two and a half meters sounds about right.

I can still decapitate them with my mind, but thats a moot point. Also for a mod were graphical quality is sacrificed so we can have ZILLIONS of units...those units actually look quite cool.

The lascannons on the razorback alone have more polies than most AA models...

Normal, 5 ft or so, super-genetic soldiers (I swear they aren't nazis!) 8 ft maybe, suit makes em a little taller...

So they're about twice as tall as a man?

Mine "might" be, depends on how rediculous it looks, yours are like 1/3 taller... Maybe 1/2? Space Marines are genetically enhanced so they should be 5.5 for normal people... 8 maybe for SMs...

8 would be a good try...
