Just because I havn't had a say (i'll derail one last time, sorry WZ).

The texture shows you do have a gasp of the basic Idea, And I can see your using the same sort of tricks I use, however you need to pay attention to detail.

Just a few points that will quickly improvet he texture.

1) Look at your lighting. Front is a good example were your lighting wrong. Light (for pre shading anyway) should be from the top, Not from a sideways angel. Otherwise the illusion is lost when in game as suddenly the shodows will same back to front.

2) Reptinging the same splat... those schorch marks look nig on identical, they should be more varid, and you should think about how the mark got there. a front shot glanciung the side would leave a long streak to the back...

3) Lights are... LOL. :-) Is there no texture space for them, or are you just not sure what to do?

4) Barrel... should be BLACK inside and just make the whole in the end, dont make a ridge. Best way is to use inner shadow as well as a bevel.

Anyway... start a new thred when you have done a bit more (I assume the black is a work in progress...)

I think the Scout trooper's head looks wrong, geometry wise. The 'snout', so to speak, should extend a bit, the visor 'rims' shouldn't extend so far and the head in general should be wider and rounder

Heh, the scout trooper was actually by Gnomre, but I don't think he has any intentions to change it, largely because it's pretty much done, uv and map wise. Your points are valid, but it's 95% accurate, and we've got a whole heap of stuff to get through.

Just leave it, its good enough for now.
Better to have a large amount of "pretty good" units rather than a few "perfect" units.

The AT-RT is good, but some things could be touched up here and there.

I have a question, do you think you guys can give the Rebel Veteran Trooper a chain gun or something; or a weapon that makes you want to build them because they have a gun that just makes them look awesome?

And are there any more models that you guys would like to show us? Completed or not, i dont care

The "machine gun" thing from the Jedi knight games... erm i forget the name, secondary fire in JKII outcast and academy was a big purple 'nade shot. It looked and sounded cool, and was lethal vs infantry

edit: quick search yielded the name "heavy repeater"

The rebels already have the MRB (Medium Repeated Blaster) in even SWS1.0; it has a similar role to the eweb, in being an mg-42-esque mobile anti-infantry weapon that has to deploy to fire, as well as having a more sturdy immobile variant. This dynamic has changed in the new SWS, but not by a lot.

Also, one of the Imperial stormtroopers is armed with a light repeater blaster, but I don't think that's what you mean.

Anyway, here's the new Super Battle Droid, model and texture by me:

(I know about the red dot issues, and that it should only be on one side; it will be attended too)

I just noticed and maybe I am the only one who sees it but the stormtroopers thighs are too long.

also, any glowmap work being done?

Yeah, we noticed that a little while ago; but I think it's pretty tough to spot, and a pain in the arse to fix. What will probably end up happening is we'll try to ignore it, then someone will get really fed up with it and go change it.

Only thing that'll have a glowmap on the SBD will be the little red light.
