BAR + dev engine - Fancy Selected Units does not work

The Fancy Selected Units widget does not draw anything with BAR and the latest Spring engine. I tested it because in ZK the Unit Shapes widget is not visible for some people and I heard that Fancy Selected Units uses a similar drawing technique.

This may be a general problem with the new SDL in latest spring. Maybe some combinations of blending and masking do not work on my hardware.

I have the same issue and it seems to happen with all 96+ engines (although I didn't test with any before -141 because they weren't very stable for a while when all the merges happened.)

Ticketed - http://imolarpg.dyndns.org/trac/balatest/ticket/616 - didn't investigate it.

Dont use this widget yet. It is still in development and still need some serious work. Especially performance optimization!

I only submitted it because it ran without errors here, but not at jK's setup. I gave it to him so he could optimize it but he just couldnt run it so... nothing happened. And I wanted to find out the cause by letting the bar devs encounter it.

I did not say that I was using it, just that I wanted to test a bug because I had reason to believe it would not work. Anyway, I talked to jK and I think that he has the right hardware to reproduce my bug. This is good news because with such a powerful dev able to reproduce it the bug can be fixed.

I tested old engine versions to narrow down the issue. I didn't test with BAR, I tested with ZK and the Unit Shapes widget (which is the bug that GoogleFrog is trying to troubleshoot, and which may be related to the issue with Fancy Selected Units in BAR).

It works on this one: 96.0.1-5-gf24bb1a/ 04-led-2014 14:46

It doesn't work on this one: 96.0.1-121-g9c029a2/ 07-led-2014 14:58

All other versions between those two fail to launch at all, or crash on game start, or don't have windows versions, or don't take mouse input.

One of the big things that happened between those two versions was the SDL2 merge.
