Spring RTS Engine

As the title says, I'm a bit exasperated because it seems like no matter what combination of buttons I press, I can't draw the "starting boxes" on the map in the SpringLobby client.

In addition, if I select the "choose before game" option, I also can't move the "icon" from the default locations.

Is this not a feature included in SpringLobby? If so, then how does one go about doing this?

you have to select chose before game, then just draw them in the map with left mouse click ( in the map tab )
the icons disappear in chose before game exactly because in that mode, they make no sense to exist ( spring won't use them )

Just an idea: are you trying to do this on the page where the map is on the top right side? If so: Go to the "Map"-tab where you can select start-positions (Fixed/Random/Choose [in, before] game). There you can move player icons in "Fixed" or can "draw" squares in "Choose before game" (like Wingflier wrote).
