If anything it helps define the shape as seen from above making it more identifiable.

ah good. yes the prongy bits should help define the shape, as each tower has a different setup. i was second guessing the size of the gun though after looking at some models other people have made... tempted to enlarge it, as the tower is not threateningly phallic enough yet in my eyes.

Something is a bit wrong with this shape.
Dont get me wrong this model is awesome but i think a change in some of the ratios might do it some good.

I think its the pyramid like feeling it gives out..
A pyramid with a giant turret head at the tip..

The ratio of the barrels and the head might need a small change...
The barrels look heavy and it doesnt seem the head can balance them.

IMO make the blue bars by 90 to ground and not a lined up in a pyramidal shape, make the legs at the bottom smaller and chaneg the head ratios a bit.

i'd suggest elongating the back of the turret as it looks a bit unstable with all of the weight that far forward. or you could set the barrel rotation point farther back.

it might be a bit large footprint wise depending on what role this is but otherwise looks good.

Edit: Speaking of footprint, it would at least be 4x4, probably more likely 5x5... So in other words, big structure.
