The knee's 4 cylinders probably have as much poly as the entire rest of the model, could be worked out better in that area.

Got 3DS Max yesterday, spent awhile looking at tutorials and experimenting until I decided to try this:

1600 polies, but not been pruned so easily closer to 1000.

Here are a few WIPs. Some can be used in games, some clearly can't. Most of them are untextured and require a lot of changing. For instance, the "evil merman"s entire upper body looks fine. But, the fin section looks awful.

Also, these are a bit old. A lot of them no longer exist or have been changed dramatically.

There are too many files to post here so I just packed them in a rar.

I use 3ds max and mudbox mainly. I also use maya, softimage, and a lot of other autodesk programs. All 2010 versions.

None of those were actually made for spring. The tank and the mech could be used for spring though. I keep having people here ask to see more of my work, and this is the best place to put it.

First off, that was meant as a joke :|

It's not the prettiest model ever, but that wasn't the point- it was about making something look good, fast, at a minimum resolution.

Seriously, if you'd like to pick on my models, there are better choices, I'm sure, but let's not bother fighting about this little misunderstanding, shall we?

Oh, i dont know, the heli has a distincive shape and is a excellent example for what can be archieved with lowpoly modells and a high detailed texture.

I agree with Picasso. Doing more with less should be an overall goal, I feel. I know I'm not an artist, so that's what I strive for in my own models. My own crummy models 8)

That being said, your model is nice looking Spiked.
