Not so keen on the turqoise, perhaps just a bight bright golden yellow, so you can just see the tinge of the light at the edges, turqoise attracts too much attention.

But otherwise I really like them!

Texturing is slow as hell
Nah, it's just practice. Don't sweat it, it gets faster, once you have a systematic way to do it.

For the style you're doing, use layers for the lines, and airbrush the gradients- at first it will be a pain, but ultimately it's a lot faster to do it by hand than to mess with settings, and the hand-paint looks better as well.

It's looking good, though, and I'm sure it'll be very nice when texture2 is on it. Better yet, if you kept greebles as layers, you can kick out a half-way decent normalmap almost instantly.

Textures looks fine Behe.
And yeh, texturing can be the most demanding of all the processes when making any model.

As far as the units go, nice job.

Only 1 gripe, the AK? looks maybe a bit too much like the Pewee with the boxy head section, might be hard to tell them apart.

I think it will work just fine, a lot of mods use the sphere bot for a pewee replacement anyways. They all look really good.

Those look awesome, I think the hammer needs slightly longer barrels though.

funny models wombat!

hi guys, another question if this is the right place, for animated units like Kbots, commanders and constructors I need more than one object, but Uspring only allows me to select one UV map.

I just put all the UV maps in unittextures or do I need to modify some script?

Wombat watch out with turning quads into triangles, and making the extra edges hard, it looks ugly as you see.

i dunno rly what u mean :D i dont turn anything into triangles intentionaly ( if u mean these triangles at the side of tank, these are squares, but blender rendering is seriously f****d up)

what do u mean with these edges ?

Wombat:
Top plane: simple clean scout plane, i like it
Trucks: looks good, although a tad elongated. Could use a bit more detail
Arty: doesnt work
Tank: looks good, thin barrel, needs more detail

Melvin: Those boats look very good, are they con-corsair-scout-sub?

wanted to make art bit different, we will see after textures. to be honest im scared to add details to these models, its mainly for ba and units like stumps and samsons are counted in regular ba game in dozens :X (and even with fugly old models ba lags). ba = spam :(

melvin, these ships look great but bit flat, some towers and more levels plz !

Let me make something perfectly clear here: remaking models at a similar level of detail as currently exists in ba (150-200 tris per model) is a nice exercise, but I think it to be quite pointless.

Spring is _not_ as limited by polycount of objects as it is by piececount and tons of other factors. My crappy old 8800 gt could easily push 2 million triangles at 50 fps in spring.

Graphics hardware is always getting better and cheaper, plan for the future.
So yes, you can easily afford 1k tris per model.

I dont think it "lags" cause of complex models but because of having to do pathfinding and such things

But wombats last tank would be better with a bit different shape I think - now it's quite long compared to the width and height, unlike the old stumpy. This doesn't look as sturdy (that might be also cause of thin barrel), and I'm not sure how much changing its shape changes the gameplay of the unit.

The truck, if it's a samson the weapon might be a bit too big - it does really slowly damage afterall, that looks like it shoots big ass rockets. It looks good though, and modifying the weapon a bit you could get a flak truck too. Or a radar or jemmer vehicle.
