Re: Random WIP
but it takes awhile to texture and do all the unit/ weapon work. plus i don't always have the inspiration to do it. most of my models are based of anime or other video games.
Re: Random WIP
a common saying is "You need to read a thousand books before writing one", anyways nice stuff, especially the empire bomber.
Re: Random WIP
jesus fuck, good luck with that uvmap.

Re: Random WIP
Why? It's just the turret and one quarter of the main body you'll actually have to unwrap. The rest of the body is just cloneable (okay except for those "rings" on the back but they're piece of cake)...
EDIT:
Concerning the model - it doesn't really seem to be balanced / believable. Four small & rather fragile legs carrying that massive body doesn't look right...

I dunno, if he was going to do anything interesting I would suspect all those little bits would be tough.Master-Athmos wrote:Why?

this is for some mod ?
Re: Random WIP
Yep i think too that the legs are too wimpy for the big middle body. Also moving/turning with that setup would be really slow, if you got legs they should be longer i think

Re: Random WIP
@ Lemmi: If you removed the legs it'd be a pretty believable hovercraft...
Re: Random WIP
Looks almost identical to the Freedom Guard's Triple Rail Hover Tank in Dark Reign.

Re: Random WIP

Re: Random WIP
awesome stuff smoth and bob.. although bob i reckon they should fire across the chest rather than straight forward, if you look at pics of people holding rifles, the gun always goes parallel to the body not perpendicular, this way you show a lot less of your own body towards your target also.
Re: Random WIP
This, on all counts - a very nice low-poly model (I can't think of a better one - maybe Stormtroopers, but that's it), but yeah, a man holding a gun should have the torso twisted to the right, and the head and rifle twisted to the left. Of course, aiming up and down will be trickier, since that way you can't use the shoulders as a hinge - they'll detach if you try to aim upwards as a unified pair of arms.thesleepless wrote:awesome stuff smoth and bob.. although bob i reckon they should fire across the chest rather than straight forward, if you look at pics of people holding rifles, the gun always goes parallel to the body not perpendicular, this way you show a lot less of your own body towards your target also.
Really, that's the kind of stuff it would be so much nicer to do with real animation tools.
