Re: Random WIP
can we see the tank in the new skins, I am curious what it looks like now
Re: Random WIP
I do too, but unfortunately the only person who has got the tank model is hamsate, and he hasn't replied yet.
HAMSATE! WE SUMMON YOU! PLEASE SHOW US THE TANK!

Patience, friends. Education comes first.
Base texture:
Original w/ MidKnight's shading:
MidKnight's Camos:
It looks very nicely done to me. Next time I start to texture another model, I'll study what you did here. Thanks MidKnight.

Re: Random WIP
yep! get rid of the lines between edges,
if you need a line between panels, make it very thin/faint, the idea is to use the texture to hide the polygons below.
and remember usually panels will overlap, fold around edges and be rivetted.
eg.
note how there's no black lines along the edges of the polygons, although there is more paint wear along the edges

Re: Random WIP
You need to paint over them :) disable the layer with black lines before you save and make sure there is paint above them.manolo_ wrote:when i textured my first modell i got the same problem, this fuckly black lines between the textures

Re: Random WIP
OMG THAT IS THE COOLEST THING IN THIS THREAD
Re: Random WIP
seems a bit dark LL, when it gets the ingame lighting applied it is going to be VERY dark.
Re: Random WIP
@hamsate: Awesome! And, of course, you are right, education comes first.
@LL: I agree with smoth.

Re: Random WIP
it should be dark ^^ so thats fine. you will still see what unit it is and what player controlls it
Re: Random WIP
there is a difference between dark and so dark all the detail is lost.
Re: Random WIP
Lemmi looks good (lol copy paste textures) if you put some more work in it it could look better (especially fix the tires/tracks) or even better if you just make a completely new texture
Re: Random WIP
LL, this a black unit from gundam but the texture really is closer to a grey.
Re: Random WIP
if someone want to texture it , ok do it xD
Re: Random WIP
Mind taking screenshots without OpenGL spec./shading?hamsate wrote:Patience, friends. Education comes first. :P

(as in set specular to 0 and ambient to 1 in the material properties)

Amazing work! It looks soooo evil! I love it!LordLemmi wrote:

@Smoth
When LL releases, he'll probably get complaints about his all-too-dark units. They're all like that, all very dark. Probably better to just stick with his current approach. Then, when he finds out at the end, it'll bea simple batch-job to brighten the whole lot of them.
