So far having great success with a new method of mapmaking that's 10% Terresculptor standard, and 90% GIMP unstable.

All of the screens are the same diffuse texture, just with the colormap on top swapped around in GIMP. colormaps and weightmaps used for texturing can be easily done in terresculptor. The same weightmaps are used for both the diffuse texture and distribution map, so DNTS becomes trivial to add.

Slope texturing exactly matches vehicle/bot pathing too.

You may have all but forgotten about the procedural units plan.. but the mad max units never died. They dwelled in the wastelands of the vapo-war and now they are back with a vengance..

PS: Drivers, Turrets and Decoration are still missing, but not for long.
Also the wheels will be realigned as where the Varyfoo feet.

Ladies and Gentleman- i present to you - the warning cone bot!

Its a unique archievment in soft robotics, able to detach from a crashed vehicle and by the power of inflating alone, to travel along the last path taken to a correct warning distance.
There it deflates itself, completely, except for the coneshaped midsection which is filled with sprayfoam. LEDs activate, alarming anyone coming near to the site of the accident.

It will very soon be standard- in every spring unit.

Super smooth but this kind of animation benefits from algorithmic variations

It's UV'ed, but not textured. At the time, I was limited to 256x256 Targas, I believe? One of the horrid limitations of the Mechcommander 2 Engine. They were bumped to 512, but I never got around to texturing it, as about that time I had my son, so I didn't have time to work on it. By the time I did, the developer for MCO went a direction I didn't want to follow, so it and many other battlemechs and vehicles from the Battletech Universe, languished on my hard drive.

A Idea for a map feature.. it looks like stonhege.
Until fighting occur nearby- it then slowly lifts itself from the ground- revealing itself to be a burried anti-space weapon, whose electro manetic charging stuns nearby units. I think it is always worth adding the ilusion of ancient history to anything one does.
Imagine commanders not teleported in, but excavating from the ground.
Imagine them beeing part of temples, beeing burried as the old metal gods.

Locust LCT-1V (20 Ton BattleMech). 10,196 tris/ 5,236 polys. No UVs yet. I did this to start kit-bashing 'Mechs together.
