I'm pretty aimless as far as font goes at the moment but thanks for the good advice
Beherith wrote: Save team color to alpha and set the glColor and blending mode?
Well I guess that would solve having 2 images, but I think I'd prefer to keep the alpha for transparency for multiple reasons.

One big one is so it can use the chili skin for the background.

There's all kinds of things wrong with that screen but I think some cooler stuff could be done.

Not sure if I've mentioned it, but you should include hotkey codes in the build and order menu.

+1, it works and the build pics look really good.

Have you managed to automate it or have you done it all by hand so far?

I made a batch script to use with imagemagick for the overlays but it could use a little work, as I had to use some batch processing in gimp too (Stuff that could also be done in imagemagick).

Plus its simple in chili too

Code: Select all

local image = Chili.Image:New{
 parent   = button,
 height   = '100%', width = '100%',
 file     = "BuildIcons/Units/"..cmd.name..".png",
 children = {
  Chili.Image:New{
   color  = teamColor,
   height = '100%', width = '100%',
   file   = "BuildIcons/Overlays/"..cmd.name..".png",
  },
 },
}

The progress and results of BAR looks very good (promising I would even say). Now I wonder, whats the ETA?

that depends... Do you know how to atlas? :-)
(some modelling has/can still be done too; just ask if interested)

I believe the un-official date of 'completion' is year's-end.
That's mainly model art. Other area's are less well-defined/planed afaik.
and think that could still be doable. (But with current man-power it might take a bit longer, not sure...)

It looks great but it is too monochromatic, the walls could be like a pale tan or something with rust around them under the tin roof, that way it isn't such a brown blob at a distance.

Actually an in-game killed script editor would be awesome, but I was mainly bemoaning the idea of 1-unit-1-script.

@FireStorm_ : looks really good, I especially like the "insides" of the tracks.

missile-tower, green is team-color. Texture needs still some details, but overall its finished. Does anyone know how I can get wings3d to show white as white, not gray like in this picture?

@LordMuffe: I like your reload system :-)
(Low effort animation, and far better end result than a more static model. Wonder how it will turn out...)

And I just made this picture:
