this, unless you really have a reason why video would be a better medium.
when using video it is hard to make text on buttons, menus etc readable unless the video is HD and viewed fullscreen.

Fraps.. I'd timelapse the grunt work if anyone could recommend a simple program do to some low level video editing like speeding parts of a video up

In case you want to slap on the voiceover at later time Audacity and VirtualDub are useful

I personally consider video tutorials to be no tutorial at all... but I know there are people out there who love them... I think they are kinda tricky to do right with the zooming in and out and such... I would think if you just record your whole desktop while you go through the process you tutorial... then go back and crop/zoom slow down/speedup parts and record yourself talking etc... that would be good... ensure you enable subtitles on YouTube aswell, as this will allow google to translate what your saying to many languages...

finally, put the "transcript" with key screen shots (timestamped) somewhere so that people who hate video tutorials... or watched it and want to go back and check a specific part can do so easily.

at first i was like omgdownloadvideowhynotyoutube but then i watched the first one and it was pretty good!
also comes with a pdf and links to read the stuff again, nice.

now you are going to watch all the other videos and then you'll spread the goodness.. even if this is a bit old and his workflow is a bit different now there's a good deal of stuff to pick up
