*how does it look

Strange, as if you misused a few subdivision modifiers, not to speak of the color but that is a nonissue

certainly good for a first try!

as far as i know, importing a model into upspring breaks the smoothing (can someone confirm?) so this model might not be great to use for spring, but to me, it has artistic merit.

its good practice to adjust the vertices and set smoothing groups yourself...

anyways dont let these guys discourage you, i see potential in your work.

i suggest you try making a red pickup truck next, so we can compare you work to other fledgeling modellers.

it isn't the smoothing you know, kaiser. What he's using adds faces to make it more smooth.

Karotte, how many faces does that have?

for clarity : i just meant the whole car looked like a smoothing group, i thought it was bad news to do stuff like that before getting the model ready for spring. no comment really about the modifier that hasn't already been stated

*edit* its kinda sad that nobody else has anything nice to say about this guys first model, he's doing a lot of things right and has an interesting style IMO

For a first go, that's pretty good. Most people use incredibly high tricounts when they start modeling, it's normal.

Spring can use anything. And yes, there are games with cars.

When working with 3DS instead of OBJ.

It might be a better idea to begin with low poly modeling and UV mapping instead.

lol, what are the names of this games?

PS: When you say every time, do low poly models, dont use smooth, then i have to say: Ive didnt made this model for Spring or some other game, only for me :!:

So yeah the car looks wonky. Props for the swastika crossings in the wheels, though.
