Seems they get played alot so should get more luv
Concept for a chicken map, that forces you with metall distribution to go out there and get some outposts..

Re: Chicken Map Initiative
+1 to some more chickens maps, would be good to have some with more varied geometry imo.

Re: Chicken Map Initiative
Anyone remember the Map Fuel Dump from Enemy Territory?
Basically two teams, one in defense, one in offense, against the timer.. and a level shaped like a colon, the defenseability of positions(ressources at mexspots) is objective based .
To make something like this would be interesting.. basically once chickens reach and conquer a metallspot, it ceases to be productive for you (cant be reconquered) and your team. In return more supplycrates (aka as metallspots) are dropped on new defensepositions behind you, allowing you to gracefully fallback.

Re: Chicken Map Initiative
that would turn chickens into a tower defense game.
Re: Chicken Map Initiative
Ahem no, not really?
The idea is that you start on the right in a small zone, and chickens come from the right- but those mexes (depots) you need to supply, are limited, basically only getting activated , whenever the chickens destroy one of the forward frontline depots. All that against a timer going down.
The longer you hold up, the less time you have to have to hold out in the main fortress.
All with "D" marked metallspots can be contaimnated by chickens, after which they do no longer hold metall.

Re: Chicken Map Initiative
Idea is that players have to expand more and build in more different places?
Imo that is difficult because the way BA works it is better to porc in one location vs chicken:
It is big advantage to have all buildpower in one place, wreckage can be reclaimed, eco is protected,...
That is why in chickendefense players usually decide on an area to defend and do not expand outwards a lot.
Spreading out is just not so efficient and a few metalspots do not make up for that.
Slowly falling back means rebuilding defense all the time...
The "supply crates" might compensate..but those new "artificial" rules go a bit against normal playstyle? But maybe that is not bad...

Re: Chicken Map Initiative
Ofc you can play it how you like, and I did say I thought new map geometry would be fun - but BA chickens was designed as a tower defence game and its generally played as one.
Any Spring game has ninja ropes?"supply crates"
