Onyx Canyon V1.6:

-Rain has been converted into a widget, it can now be turned on/off via widget menu
-Converting rain to widget form also fixed nanospray not showing for some people

1.5 Changes:

-More suitable detailtex used when /advmapshading off
-Fewer rain particles
-Brigther minimap
-No more norain version, based on general feedback rain works well, no error reports

Permission to clutter it with onyx features, made for beheriths future lava maps?

It reminds me of TA Crystal World. Except charcoal instead of purple colored.

Though it is the kind of map that would benefit from a custom DetailTex.

I loaded it up, and it looks absolutely stunning. and zw, I think it does have a very custom detailtex indeed.

Really? Ah yes indeed there is, cont_DET.bmp. But it still looks like grainy concrete, which imo doesn't fit the crystalish feel of the map texture.

Love the skybox, which fits the theme amazingly. Out of curiosity, did you use the same method for it as you did for the NASA/space ones you posted?

Maybe if you were to split them up into different features yeah... right now their all clumped into one.

Also very dark, hard to see the texture at a distance.

the .bmp detailtex only is used when /advmapshading is off, enable SSMF to see what beherith is talking about.

I shall split them up then..

also..not sure, but seems to be normal messed up. Shouldnt be completely black.. more like broken onyxlava..

If still black, open in upspring, and select recalculate vertex normals

Now that you mention it yeah, rain does pan with the camera...
Not really that noticeable during normal gameplay but still there, your post implies there is better rain out there that doesn't do this?

It all depends what you want... some rain widgets simulate a battle taking place in the rain, others simulate you being in the rain watching a battle :p
