Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
awesome, i test my AI and scenario editor on this map, i think i've started seeing faces in mexes like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Shrou ... ompare.jpg, a change is more than welcome :)
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
YES!
So much better than my attempts at hacking the map together with your texture.

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Awesome stuff! Somebody tell Bibim to change default comet to this one when they see him.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Hmm, it looks kinda... too shiny, as if the cliffs were of some super reflective material.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
So nice. Fabs already uploaded to [ACE] autohosts.

Johannes, some moons, like ours, reflect a shitton of light and from the surface in various lighting conditions would appear very shiny on it's surface.

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
personally i'd go for a less colorful skybox, or at least something with darker colors
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Got to goth it down man: This is not just any moon. This is europe. Everything here is brown, dark, grrrrrrrey... oh, yes they forbidden the rolling rrrrrrs quite some time ago.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Except for it's a Comet, but I think the shinyness part still appliesForboding Angel wrote:<3

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Comets couldn't catch comets as they are far too small. Only a large body with a fair amount of gravity and size could be called a comet catcher.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
I smell a yo momma joke.

I agree with yohannes on it the shiney. it is a bit muchForboding Angel wrote:<3

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
A comet catcher is a moon. Much like our moon protects us from various meteors and comets.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Yeah... not really, unless by "our moon" you mean Jupiter, which is the actual "comet" catcher in this system.Forboding Angel wrote:A comet catcher is a moon. Much like our moon protects us from various meteors and comets.

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Quite true, but one simply has to look at our moon with the naked eye to know that it is Earth's personal comet catcher.
Back to the map, it is obvious that it's supposed to be a moon.

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
Earth is a greater attractor and greater target than the moon is. The cratered surface on the moon compared to the earth is the result the difference in atmosphere, with the moon having practically none.
Incidentally, no atmosphere is also the reason the moon would be ridiculously bright.

Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
No one said that moons attract comets... But they do act as shields. Once again I point to the craters on our own moon.
Re: Comet Catcher Redux V2
What waldo meant to express is that because the moon lacks an atmosphere like we have here on earth, forces like wind and water erosion do not act on it and thus it has more clearly formed craters.
