The map is complete now with the new main texture
and the metal output is lowered and a larger metal
extraction radius to force you to expand ...
Also most of the higher metal outputs are in the water and
smaller islands.
So, here is the links to download it ....

Take the time and download it ... you might even like this

Hmm, looks good, I advise you to use metal spots though, not just metal everywhere.

hoi, it's a metal map

metal maps are fail.Forboding Angel wrote:hoi, it's a metal map
e: if you want it to be a metalmap, I'd be interesting to give more metal the closer you are to the centre of the islands.
Re: Need some input about a map I'm working ...
I was thinking about having the metal on the 4 main islands around
.9 - 1.2. The other 4 smaller islands would be around 1.3 - 1.6 and

I know it's a metal map, but am I the only one who actually likes the Castles approach? Why not put an extraction radius to force the player to spread at least a little over their island?
edit: if they'll have different water values, then different colours are a must. Metal must always be visible.

Here is a screen shot of the metal layout ...
The main 4 islands have 1.0 for metal output. Also the water
area is outputting 1.3 . An the other 4 smaller islands are
getting 1.2 ... for metal.
Almost forgot their are 6 Geos to they are located on the four
smaller islands ...

Was it you who made that old map that was (very) similar to this, but without the central islands?
Re: Map done ... Mimi-Isles-Wet-V1.5 ....
REVENGE
change the height map, metal layout and the main texture.
Basically a lot of changes from version 1.2 ...
Hopefully someone will like the new version of the map ..

i'll have to give this one a shot for sure
(sort of off-topic) honestly, it makes a lot more sense to me for futuristic robots to fight over a battlefield like this rather than a lot of spring maps which seem to feature earth-like climates. not that i have anything against earthlike climates, im breathing one right now... but looking at the planets of our solar system, and thinking like a robot, i'd probably like to invade mercury first, just based on the theorized metal content.
conversely, i guess if robots get mad, they don't care where they fight... but somehow i find a map like this to be more "realistic" in terms of viable battlegrounds of the future.
what program did you use to make the texture map?
