AATA Beta 0.9

by FLOZi
I am in the process of porting this.
There are more bugs than I expected so it could be a while before it's ready, note that it will be pretty much a straight port to Spring, taking advantage of a few Spring features such as high trajectory, and fixing a few graphical bugs in Spring.
I do not forsee myself continuing development of AATA past the current beta 0.9.
I'd post some screens but I'm lazy, so maybe later!

Excellent, Flozi. I was really looking forward to seeing this work in Spring. When I ported it, it was all but unplayable.
I'm happy to help you out whenever I can, although I have committed myself to the SWTA Spring port, so that would get preference.
I can perhaps do some high-poly infantry models, so you don't get stuck with blockheads?
(You could use them for TACW:S too)

WD's infantry needs an overhaul, actually I made a model that looks ok, I just need to skin it it and stuff...

Rather unsure how I will deal with the airfields, perhaps alter the yardmap so they are still built on geos, but on *any* geo so AATA:S doesn't require it's own maps.
Or just rely on their large size to inhibit their placement.
Zsinj... I was going to ask G_Z for his!
Although redoing all of AATAs infantry (+ towed artillery) to a new model is not a task I desire to undertake.

*shrugs*
Well, if you need detailed infantry models, give me a yell.

It has to get to beta stage first.

We want the Russians! :P
Good Luck, Flozi. PS, how goes TA/SCW? (TA/Spring Cold War)

Indeed with my current coursework schedule getting a fully operational beta 0.9 is going to take a while.
To go beyond what is already there I'd need a (good) texture artist
And I do have my own beloved mod to work on too.

Don't we all?
I'm learning to texture. I might be able to help there (at a pinch)
I can also UV Wrap stuff

I'm pretty sure stealth870 would help you out there - if he says no tell him I'll take that job if he does.
I dont think he's a member of this forum so you'll have to talk to him at TAU

Stealth was a member of my unit group back in the day, he didn't much enjoy being badgered about custom unit texxes then, either.
I wish Spiked had done as I suggested and kept his original texxes instead of just the resized TA-optimised ones.

Are you sure we're all on the same page? That sounds
nothing like Stealth870...

Me and Stealth (assuming you mean the one from TAU) had a lengthy discussion about the virtues and dangers of pot use. He is or was a strong advocate, admitting to smoking it, baking it into things, etc, etc.
Oh, Gnome. Has the eagle landed yet?
//Ah, i see it has.

You sure you're not thinking of Under, Caydr?
I very much doubt that was Stealth870.
Hmmmm, screens. Sometime soon!
