Здравствуйте Россияне,
Поскольку руссификация будет интересна только русскоговорящим пишу на русском. Да простят меня модераторы.
Сбылась моя давняя мечта перевести Spring.
Все переведено через Promt но выглядит очень неплохо.
Делал на скорую руку, пишу тоже на скорую руку.
Мною написана программа которая делает перевод.
Если нужно могу дать файл соответствий английских и русских фраз: Config.ini. Для внесения поправок.
Переводы на другие языки тоже возможен с помощью моей программы. Но там специфика символов.

Тестированно на Windows XP.

Установка:
-удалить Sprin\fonts\FreeSansBold.otf
-распаковать архив в корень Spring

You just replaced fonts and that's it, it started supporting Cyrillic?

Last time i tried Cyrillic in Spring, it just gave square boxes, but i never made connection to the font (and all the developers kept chanting that Spring no workey with Unicode, so i suppose it's ASCII cyrillics you used?)

Did you do anything special with encoding of unit files?

(why BA of all things! your effort is wasted there!)

IIrc, spring doesn't support alphabets except the roman one and its minor variants. I don't know about lobbies though.

I'm curious as to why you've numbered this file as BA 7.73, when the latest version we've released is only 7.72.
(why BA of all things! ... )

It was not a political sentiment; nor agitation and propaganda against said mod: rather a technological note.

BA doesn't have a translation framework, so this translated version will desync. Hence work is either wasted, or requires integration of some unknown sort by maintainers of BA, such as they exist - and likely wasted.

There were threads like this before, the answer should be the same:
Either implement it fully as unicode in the engine (start with chat, that's arguably the most important part), or don't do it at all.
I've seen people (government organizations as well!) use different scripts by using ASCII with different fonts, which would display the ASCII letter "g" as "г" for example, and that would cause huge problems later on (imagine trying to copy/paste that, you would get garbled nonsense).

That's for languages with different fonts but a translation widget could at least handle languages like French or German which are covered by ASCII.

Something that doesn't require too many special characters could easily be handled but like gajop said, the font interface is limited. Honestly, there are bigger features to fix, so I don't see this taking priority.

The french accentuated letters and cedilla, such as àéêèîïôüç, are not covered by Ascii

can http://springrts.com/wiki/Project_propo ... on_support be done without it? (seems to me a bigger priority is getting the unicode done, even if not using the best font for the script)

not sure. i guess first priority should be that the callins support unicode.
imo highest priority should be gl.Text & Spring.Echo. Not sure whats needed to make these functions utf-8 aware.

This means that you do not delete the font.
