AA was the only RTS, or even -game- that i've enjoyed enough to play online for more than a week or two.

Can't wait for the new version

we have Absolute Annihilation, Balanced Annihilation, and Complete Annihilation

Name AA v2.4 Destructive Annihilation. It's only fair.

since all the mods use the same base, how hard would it be to make an "annihilation" core? Then we could get mutators like AAH(hover coms) BAH(hover coms) and of course CAH... but most importantly it would cut down on redundant files.

also, caydr, if you aa has the lich bomber like ba has.. there are black strips coming off of it where it's exhaust ports are those need to be hidden

:|

Thank.... you.... Smoth...

The "AA" core thing, it's not really technically feasible IMO. And besides, AA as a mod is only like 6 MB if I remember right. Anyone who can play it online can download that in a matter of seconds. And anyone who can't download it quickly, shouldn't be playing online ;)

Regarding eye candy, my first priority will be getting the mod back to a playable state, we'll see what happens from there. If you want to improve the chances, please dig up some threads about any effects that have been introduced in the last 8 months and how they are implemented.

It takes me a couple minutes to download a 6 meg file. And I play fine online and can host at least 6 players no problem. Of course even a couple minutes is not much at all for the occasional times that I download a new mod.

for
gods
sake

stop using cave dog models and crap old stuff that looks so bad its unreal

steal all of CA's effects Caydr..... AA/BA look crap and spring looks crap playing AA/BA (except on lathans maps when you can look at the features alone and go wow)

people with crap computers can carry on playing AA and BA and people with good ones can actually benefit instead of using 3 percent of their power working out some crap barely 3d cavedog models and some 2d crap smoke effects.

The entire AA based mod group is all f*cked bigtime. The CA people know this, hence why the CA project was started.

Whatsmore AA 2.4 and AA 2.3 arent benefitting anyone, if anything they're driving people away and causing mass confusion in the playerbase that isn't forum-wise.

AA 2.4 wont be a saviour no matter whats done to it or what the 2.4 archive actually contains.

caydr, read the moder resource thread(sticky in this forum). I have been releasing tons of stuff as creative commons. The license I used only requires whoever uses it to point others to the resource after they use it.

I will update my effects pack after I release 1.11

Nice to see you back Caydr.

It would be nice if the rest would get off their High Horse and show some support too.

Because to be honest, I doubt that the Spring community would be anywhere near as strong as it is now, without Caydr's work and AA to pave the way.
