( French players for french content web page : http://springrts.fr/evenements/tournoi- ... puis-1v1v1 )

BA 7.84
For your information :
* Teams will be made by drawing lots,
* For the 1/4 and 1/2 finals, 2 wins are required on 3 games maxi. A third game will be played if there is a tie (1-1),
* 1/4 finals on Fields_Of_Isis (6 x 1v1 games) will be played,
* 1/2 finals on MartianDesert (3 x 1v1 games) will be played by the winners from the 1/4 finals,
* The final on Ternion (1v1v1) will be played by the 3 winners from the 1/2 finals in a FFA match ! ; 3 wins are required for the winner ! (games will be played until 3 wins will be reached).

+ Thank you for respecting dates and times namely Thursday, December 5, 2013 between 6:00PM & 11:55PM,
+ If either a player is not expected this in a match (within 10 to 20 min), then opponent will be declared the winner for this game,

The small form can be found at the bottom of the page.
Please register on http://springrts.fr/evenements/tournoi- ... puis-1v1v1 by typing in the «NAME (NOM)» field your Spring RTS nickname, your e-mail address and in the the field «comment (Commentaire)» your favorite starting game time (between 6:00PM & 9:30PM would be best due to others later battles)

You can practice until the D day on [ACE]Ortie, [ACE]Pirine and [ACE]Sure (The 3 maps above are locked on the 2 firsts, no way to practice any one else)

Are you sure about that "TheRing" map?
There is only one replay on it
http://replays.springrts.com/replay/e3e ... f4b4826ae/ and everybody pretty much agreed how unplayable the terrain is... :?
(the truck features are nice but rest is not very good)

Serious question: Why dont you do all this in english? You know we are an international community and stuff. I dont understand a single word of what is written there.
Probably not a coincidence that so far only french players are registered?

The #1 is in english, did you take time to read it ? Sorry if it's badly explained, but English is NOT my native language.
very_bad_soldier wrote: You know we are an international community and stuff.
So ? Is it forbidden to talk in French ? Wouldn't you be happy if there will a http://springrts.de ? No ?

I don't understand, seriously me too, the goal of your post. You can use Google to translate the page on my site.
Be honest : You're not so dumb to check what/when/how many players/what maps are played/how to register, aren't you ?

However... I know you are meaning well but my personal opinion is that it is a bit disrespectful for all other people to come to this small community with people from all over the world and do stuff in your own language and tell them to use Google translator... Sorry to say...

Well, I never said that this tourney is for players that speaks french only, otherwise, I would just put the link to http://springrts.fr...

INTL users are really welcomed, that's just why I did a PERSONNAL translation on #1st post here. You still didn't ACK me that you saw the initial tourney message here.
Everyone posts a message in Tournaments forums to inform Spring players about an organization tourney. What bad did I do ?
I did same + french website, I'm in my rights.

I didn't simply launch a google translation here.

Also, sorry, but forum doesn't allow to have such a nice page like http://springrts.fr/evenements/tournoi- ... puis-1v1v1
BUT you gave me a nice idea :
I will try another tourney and will give this same page in english or I will do something directly for INTL users.
We will see if this will change.

Cordially

I wouldn't like a springrts site in my native language. I really like the fact that we have people from all these different countries and that we are all able to communicate with each other in the same language.

I am totally sure they are welcome and yeah, you did the post here in english, confirmed. I really dont mean to piss you off. You are ofc totally free to do as you like, its not forbidden. I can just tell you how I feel when I read this (and maybe other feel similar).

BTW its quite cool to have a tourney again :)

Yes... so funny, as you said.
In fact, with all time & investment I spend, this not really makes me LOL.

Any other constructive comment ?
Hope see you on next one coming soon.

Here's a suggestion: use proper i18n software and just translate tournament rules/site into English and French.

It depends entirely on the framework your site is built on, but it usually involves translating everything on your site in multiple languages using some mechanism, and either auto-detecting the user's language or allowing him to manually choose it.
Sometimes you even embed the language in the link (usually as a prefix), but I'm not sure I like that.
Try googling "i18n <your framework>" "l10n <your framework>" and similar.

EDIT: Please don't delete your questions like that, I thought for a second I'm having short memory loss.

I didn't mean to upset you, just take it lightly. Me, Flop and a bunch of others have organised tournaments where barely anybody has shown up before, it happens, it's ok. The main 1v1 scene has been long dead in BA, you'd be lucky to even get a decent 8 way 1v1 tourney these days I imagine.

Next time just ask around to get an idea for how many people are interested and make sure the date/time is good for people.

Sorry Gajop, I deleted post by error. Didn't wanted to.

I will do it Gajop, starting first 2 different pages, and after seeking for that auto-feature.

Thank you again for taking time to explain that to me.

Well OK_

This is impossible, it's like choosing a map. There is always a player that can't play / dislike it...
