No, in parts it makes perfect sense because those part can be edited and expanded.

If you think that the current is messy, and go so far as to compare it with the old, your memory is really bad.

The old map development page looked a lot like this: http://springrts.com/wiki/Depreciated_Map_Making_Guides

I know that, because I basically copy pasted the old map development page into this one.

The new map development page is easy, concise, and tells the new mapper everything he needs to know.

There is
http://springrts.com/wiki/Map_developme ... 28Tools.29
and
http://springrts.com/wiki/Map_development#Tools
which is basically the same and actually should probally be its own page.

Also as said, the mapconv stuff does not belong on http://springrts.com/wiki/Map_development but to http://springrts.com/wiki/MapConv

It is messy because it is part tutorial, part navigation page. It should only be the later.

That little mapconv section is fine. There is no reason the person should have to make an extra click just to find out a bunch of useless information and the one thing they needed which is the compiler line.

I'm a mapper, you are not. Why don't you try making your first ssmf map using the materials and information shown on the map development page, and then come back and offer opinions that aren't complete smelly bullshit?

Or you could help reword the areas that sound like tutorials to you.

Edit: According to Abma (and I agree), that section in particular should only provide relevant information, and what the user needs. If branched pages want to go into detail fine, whatever. But it is stupid to create a new page for something that is a grand total of 2 or 3 sentences.
