Legality
Hello,
With the warning on the Spring Games webpage of TA-derived works in mind, I just wanted to make sure that this is a perfectly legal game (don't take it personally I'm doing this with all spring mods to be safe :D)
Hopefully this can be cleared up soon, because this looks like a good game that I would want to play!
Cheers,
xman15user

Re: Legality
Heh heh. For somebody so paranoid you're pretty misinformed. It isn't illegal to possess or watch pirated copyright or patented material.
It's only illegal to distribute or sell it (hence the reason all such lawsuits are related to downloads from file-sharing networks).
If you look at the fine print on those stupid "FBI warnings" that DVDs shove down our throats they usually never specifically claim it's illegal to possess copied material. They usually use weasel words to the effect of "it is illegal to possess for the purpose of distributing..." to try and confuse the two concepts.
In short, your 2TB of pirated movies, games and infringing IP is perfectly legal, just don't get caught sharing it.

Re: Legality
If you open a battle in lobby and join it and (auto)download the game, didnt you distribute it then?SpliFF wrote:It's only illegal to distribute or sell it (hence the reason all such lawsuits are related to downloads from file-sharing networks).
Ofcourse that is no problem with Spring Tanks because all the things not done by me (ie healthbars widget) are under free licenses.
If you find something unfree, tell me.
Re: Legality
