nah, linux users can just use vim or similar when coding for any dynamically typed language, i'm skeptic of a "code completion" solution IDE for those, not even sure how it'd work

So I've been trying to create a game and spent time using the maker. I used the build feature but spring won't recognize the game. What did I do wrong?

Hmm, this looks ancient, I would avoid using it.
I just checked the posts a bit, and not only is the program old, but it also seems to generate things in an outdated model.
For any feedback you'd need to post an infolog and a bit more detailed information.

This tool creates a file ModInfo.tdf, Spring does not read that anymore. Instead it is https://springrts.com/wiki/Modinfo.lua
Plus viewtopic.php?f=67&t=19027&start=40#p534337

In general the "Game Development Tutorials & Resources" does not contain anything valuable:
Everything* is either
...outdated
...dead links
...irrelevant
Keep away from it, even if it seems helpful at first look. Use wiki instead.

*"Everything" means 35 out of 36 threads. (exception is maybe viewtopic.php?f=67&t=28819 but something similiar is linked on wiki)
Some people wanted to keep it, so it stayed despite more harmful/confusing than good.

Well, afaics this project is no longer usable, its author is long gone and there is no sauce, so it can never become usable.

Locked.
