I might contact Elio and ask if he'd kindly commit the changes he made.Commander wrote:Elio never commited the changes that accomplish this, so I had to rewrite it from scratch

a binary though? I was under the impression you'd need the source to commit his changes?

Re: Mac Binary Release
Hi, tanks for doing this!
I downloaded and installed spring on my ibook (g4@1.33, 1.25gb ram) a couple of days ago and i can say that it works very well, although slowly, particularly with certain mods.
Anyway, nothing is without problems: in fact i can save games (which takes up to 5 minutes on mi mac!), but when i try to load them they loads, i get the "press enter to start" (or something similar) line, i press enter and it quits with a "Fatal Error" window, always with something different in it (for example "vector::_M_fill_insert" or "St9bad_alloc").
Another problem appeared today: i can no longer use ctrl+number to assign groups (don't know if numbers alone select them). loggin-in in another user and trying the game on it didn't solve the problem, reinstalling neither, nor did loggin directly in the root account, BUT if i open the game from the terminal while logged-in my normal account using the root user (with sudo or su) it works perfectly.
hints?

Re: Mac Binary Release
Is there a possibility that you can get the Random Enemies script working?

Re: Mac Binary Release
When I try to launch this, I get a black screen, immediately after which it bombs with a "bus error." Any suggestions for troubleshooting?

Re: Mac Binary Release
i hear that sounds included in mods aren't played. They are replaced with the defaults one or, if missing, with a noisy buzz.
i'm right?

New release:
http://fabian.herb-clan.de/Spring-0.76b1+5552.dmg
Sorry, I currently have no time for bugfixing. This release only incorporates changes in SVN.
The issue with the savegames certainly is related to endian issues.
I don't think the random enemies script thing is mac specific.
I already noticed some sounds being messed up, but I didn't find the cause yet.
Always be sure to try several mods, some don't work, at least for me, e.g. Kernel Panic.

Re: Mac Binary Release
KAI now crashes on me...
infolog: http://pastebin.com/m1dec4419
crash report: http://pastebin.com/d10420263
And AAI plays somewhat erratically: builds more anti-air towers than LLT's, doesn't finish it's buildings and builds only AK's at first... (but IIRC it already did that in the previous version)

Re: Mac Binary Release
Well, yes, but it's not as practical as full screen (can you pan when the mouse it at the screen edge when in windowed mode?), also doesn't it negatively impact performance?

Re: Mac Binary Release
i agree. i find it useful only when testing maps or mods.BlueTemplar wrote:Well, yes, but it's not as practical as full screen (can you pan when the mouse it at the screen edge when in windowed mode?)
but i suspect that it's the only method available now.
but maybe├óÔé¼┬ªi'll have to try├óÔé¼┬ª
<EDIT>
sorry: doesn't work.

regarding the savegame bug├óÔé¼┬ª
if it is an endianess problem loading games should work on intels, right? does it?

Bump. Just cause well...you know...I wish it would get worked on more...
Re: Mac Binary Release
What is the preferences option to turn on Dynamic Water? Also, where can I find where the Windows version stores the settings file? I have it on my MacBook Pro and can't find the settings file anywhere.
Re: Mac Binary Release
Should be able to do it either SpringSettings, or doing "/water 2" in-game should do it.
Re: Mac Binary Release
In windows, the settings are stored in the registry, in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SJ\Spring iirc. I highly doubt dynamic water will work on a macbook pro though - it only works on GF6,7s and 8s, only runs acceptably fast on the higher-end cards of those series.
