IRC bridge moving to matrix, disconnection of Quakenet

Post by Silentwings »

We plan to soon remove Melbot and use viewtopic.php?f=64&t=38984 to bridge #sy and other channels to IRC via Springs matrix server instead.

Two bridges currently exist for #sy, to Freenode and Quakenet. Unfortunately, Quakenet isn't connected to the matrix, which means we'll have to drop the #sy channel on Quakenet. It seems to have very few users (Phantasm, bohan, lurker[] -- any others?), so hopefully its not too much to ask those few users to move into #taspring on Freenode instead. I think that there are no other channels on Quakenet that are bridged to Spring - please reply if any others exist & are used?

The IRC channels on Freenode contain many more users (#taspring, #s44, #spring1944 -- any others?) and will move onto new bridge. Users on IRC who login directly to the spring server via the "other" IRC bridge are unaffected.
