The only issue is...
Mr.d makes models, than there are lego models by Kaiser, than there are behe's models and there are cremuss's models...
I want to add new models into SA but they will all look completely different since all these packs have completely different visual styles...
If you guys can just discuss this and at least try and maintain a bit of resemblance it would make it much easier to add them all into a single project...
Maybe one of you can try and make some sort of visual guideline for each of the 2 factions?or maybe just gather up or make a thread about it and discuss this.

No because then Evo BA CA BA2 SA and cremuss' games would all be identical looking, and very samey. The best way is to learn and model yourself or find a person who can do it for you who isnt already busy, which is next to impossible in this community.

im looking for someone who is not busy and know how to texture :D

i dont think style is THAT big problem, as long as tiers (like, t1 kbots) are made by same person, difference between lets say, t1 veh and t1 air is quite understandable

thanks lads... here's something else to peek at

Image

basic : not working so much on bots currently; i want to see what others can come up with for OTA remixes (although if theres a call for it, of course i'll give it a go)

tbh i was thinking of using the arm/torso design or something similar for evo faction 2 allterrains, we shall see!

in terms of skins... legos saves you an assload of time on that front. next time i catch behe, i will grab some of his texturesauce and apply it to the lego, to see how well it matches (his would be easier to match i would think than cremuss and mr d's work, although those would not be impossible either)

heck, i love original TA style stuff, but as stated, its more fun to put my own spin on things, or come up with something completely new.

wombat : what you REALLY need is to get your ass in gear and learn yourself :D

I like that tank :). As a non-modeler, I should probably give this a spin!

wonders when there will be an "in-game" unit editor with values attached to each part that you can link together to make custom uber units, etc. in real time.

to be honest i just think this rocks

i mean it is a style of modeling, if you look at it rigth Kaiser has made more detailed models *poly wise# than Mr Ds or cremsus

his models look more detailed than ever....
and this its way easyer to pump a series of models out....

you migth say, blah i dislike the style
then do a diferent #lego# set.

NOTE dont call it lego as many people just come here and go like "legos, blah"

call it assembly line modeling XD

the thing with modeling the #normal# way is when you reach a high poly state its dam near imposible to uvmap, and to put evrything in the same 1024x1024 resolution texture even 2048x2048

it can take up to 2 hours just lining up the uvs its crasy
then another 4 hours of plain hard work resizing and being carefull with what youll distinguish when texturing.

not saying that making the lego set is easy, but its simpler than just making a huge detailed model then uvmaping it

a large portion of the textures look like random garbage to me, as in random shapes / squares / triangles splattered all over the place that dont make any sense similar to Evo... work on that
