FREE STUFF!
Image

I have spent the past two weeks working on and off on these. So as I am sure some of you will find something wrong with this or somehow find a way to bitch about it lacking this or that. For that group of ingrates, I want to frontload this post with: "I really could give a FUCK, what have YOU done."

for the rest of you...

Image
your map can look like this!

These features are what I would consider low poly and they are all mapped to 1 1024 x 1024. Odds are you lot can kitbasha lot of stuff from this. I had to fight the urge to make tanks and other assorted things but anyway... here they are 50 new features. I hope they are useful and I really hope that this helps you guys raise the level of spring's visual appeal. I had intended on making a new map with these but alas time will not permit and let's face it you guys don't want my map.

Important stuff:
License: Public Doman.
- for those not in the know, that means this is a NO STRINGS ATTACHED COMPLETELY FREE I COULD GIVE 2 SHITS WHAT YOU DO WITH IT HAVE FUN ETC license.

To be absolutely clear: I make no restriction to what or how you use this resource it is a gift, that means it is yours to use as you see fit.. use them as units blow them up in game to mock me.

All the files are included:
*wings3d file with all buildings
*psd file 1 with just the textures for you non-cs3+ lot and one with some models and textures for cs3+ people.
*feature defs
*unit textures
*s3os

I did not consider ota metal or energy so you *A guys need to adjust that.

no prob. When I get back I will likely create an urban set.

Since they are pd, the parts... MIGHT be useful for that endeavor you wanted to do.

If they don't, that's about 30 seconds of work. More concerned about how some of it will look when scaled up- may have to split it to get enough resolution for normalmaps, idk yet, haven't had time to review the models yet.

Most of it will be fine, I'm sure. Adjusting for rescale's pretty straightforward anyhow, I'd just have to break them free of the atlas. I'm going to try and keep them in the atlas if I can, though. Do you want the normalmap?

Really great! Thanks!
I think I'll use some of these features in my new map, that I hopefully have time to work with in next year.

Why the description files are written in lua? As much I'd love to take a look to these features and use them, It's hard. Can't use them via SME.

Now I have to rewrite them by hand to tdf`? And theres hundreds...

OH, and what are the .mtl files?

My appologies, I was unaware of the fact that sme uses tdf only. Still not interwebs yet, I will look at posting tdf files later

He wrote his own feature place, called "Feature Placer". It is in the latest gundam I think, though I don't know if he is fine with other people using it.

Now we need some BA maps where the features are part of the map and not reclaimable stuff which air units can fly through! :P
