Аgain about balance.

Post by Broker »

Hi All

Need to reduce the attack range snipers. fight against them is almost impossible. Morty can not be equal to them.

There is truth in that.

Snipers are certainly good. I wouldn't change range though, that would make them a too easy target for fatboys. Perhaps increasing reload time a bit would be a better idea.

That is a heatmap of time of unit death in minutes (X axis) vs the experience of the unit at death (Y axis). An XP of 0.19 means that the unit has dealt enough damage to break even in cost (yellow line).
Red line is the average XP at that time.

Data was obtained from thousands of replays, only players with rank 6 or higher were taken into account.

it's just statistics. forum many complained about the snipers. in any case if try nothing terrible happened and will not be the apocalypse. may be more interesting to play.

Snipers are certainly a good unit but there won't be any change here. If you're having particular trouble fighting them, try sending scouts/fleas or lots of any small+fast unit at them, or try attacking them from the air.

it certainly is good. but it leads to lag and spam. may be it is time to get rid of spam.

The amount of spam needed to counter snipers is relatively small and in any case (as behes graph shows) would usually happen before there is any real pressue on cpus.

I would generally reduce the range of long-range attack units. the game would become kind of tank battles. it is more interesting than the spam and let sit for a long-range Artillery.

constantly one map and one game scenario. DSG only

There is no shortage of tank use. Deliberately reducing the variety of gameplay options makes a game more boring, not less.

vain. You're not a company with strict regulations. What if the players like. not be worse.

Why do you dismiss nerfing them in general? Do you say they are not op?

There is no on-off switch between "op"-"not op". I think they're a good unit but not anywhere near the top of my mental count of things that want attention.

You are afraid to change anything. Although there is such a possibility. quite possibly the experiment is positive.

it's just a game. nothing more.

To my eyes, you have not made a convincing argument and then resorted to insults - so don't expect any more attention.

"just try" - it isn't that simple.

Why don't YOU just try it?

* modify the BA sources
* get some players together
* try
* report

You will earn the respect of everybody.

Broker makes lots of shitty threads. Kinda like a monkey on a type writer with an infinite amount of time it is possible that he picks a valid topic for one of those threads.

If he has infinite amount of time, then he will pick all topics that are possible to pick, and also will he pick each topic an infinite amount of times. In fact, once you go to infinity, there are no longer probabilities of outcomes, but each possible outcome will come true.
