i think current crash animation of fighters/bombers looks the best. there is also option of airplanes leaving wrecks but result is bit odd atm (currently in 0k). for krow, spinning would look interesting.

All 79 imported, 15 left needing scripting. All of them need wrecks.
If you can help, please pitch in at: http://code.google.com/p/baremake/

Thanks Bob, keep up the great stuff!

Yeah, I'd also rather have them spin out of control, but situationally as well, just like the fighters do.

The radar plane looks a bit small and flimsy. In game I find they can take a lot of damage.

the shadows on the water factory is incorrect. were you meant to double side the mesh?

Oh I forgot to tell you guys, the holes on the big grate texture are supposed to be alphad out.

EDIT: Also, you may want to have the walls always face strait up.

momfreek is right. Also, I didn't immediately recognize the plane because of no discernable radar dish. Did you take that out? :(

It will make sense when the texture is applied.

problem... unit coolness is way higher than the availible maps!

And eh... I wonder what the fighters will look like textured cause now I'm not under the impression that they look aerodynamic enough, same thing for the bombers aswell.

If you stopped playing DSD you might realise that's not the case :P

Oh and can you scale down the eradicator and the air-repairpad building?

The eradicator's size is like fusion and its missile barrel larger than a bertha. It is very rare to see the air-repairpad buildig used and maybe one of the reasons is that it's not subtle enough and takes too much precious ground. Its even looking a lil bit bigger than a t3 lab. Since airbattles will occure suddenly there are usually not enough damaged planes flying around that make you think of a air-repairpad building, and also because you're too busy and need to find space to expand.

Dsd is actually a very well textured map, try comet catcher or the original brazilian battlefield for omgwtfgetoutofhere.

with ssmf, new maps are actually getting much much prettier.

It isn't just ssmf bana, the mappers that are still around have been working together to get better together. There is a lot of discussion, collaboration and critique going on.

Shadows are a bit WIP. But will be fixed.
Ill apply alpha. Ill get the walls to be upright as well.
Floris: that is not the eradicator. The air repair pad needs to fit the planes.

oh well I dunno how it is called but eh... you'll see which one I mean

I've made an animated gif to show the diffrence, although that 'eradicator' might be too small on 85% and 90% will look better.

I can count the times I ever saw the air-repairpad in use on one single hand, and thats a pity. It is cheap but just too big :S

I dont think it has much to do with the size, as much that an air repair pad serves little or no purpose on the battlefields, as nanotowers on patrol can do the same job faster and cheaper, without the plane having to land.

In my opinion, the air repair pad should have more incentives to be built, especially considering its size, you'd think it had more equipment packing. a radar and a light anti air cannon?

Or maybe even revert back to 1 pad, or, make its foot print smaller, and angle the pads facing outwards so they take up less horizontal space but fit just as many planes

edit: brazillian remake?!

once you get this update done PLZ PLZ sort out the scripting and pathing on the ships and MAKE THEM BALANCED!!! None plays sea on BA anymore only you guys can change that :D

put more emphasis on sea and air battles, make them more rewarding some how :)

KEEP UP THE AMASSING WORK!!!

ps get to work on those T3 units :D make them EPIC!!!

The unit you changed the size of wasn't the eradicator, it was the screamer tower. Eradicator's the one above the punisher, which I think is fine btw. Also, one possible solution to your balance issue - in OTA planes could only be repaired when they were landed. Another solution - massively increase the repair speed of your air repair pads.

Also, why are we talking about balance? 1, this is a models thread, not a OMGLETSFIXTHENEWBA thread. Sea and air are perfectly balanced btw, currently air is the top way to obtain intel and bomb key targets, while sea is almost unstoppable against anything that gets in its range - and can also make amphibious tanks out of the blue.

EDIT: Imo the screamer is also fine at 100%
