Kernel Panic

Kernel Panic is a mod about computers. Bits and bytes wage war in a matrix of DOOM! The only resources are time and space, there is no metal or energy economy in KP. Since all units are free, every factory you have will be spamming units at all times. You can build more factories, but only on geothermal vents. KP makes for a very fast-paced, action-oriented game, and has a very unique graphical style.

I'd just call it Madness - if you've played on Battle.Net, that's what this gametype is called.

That's actually a very good idea, Pxtl. Done. :-)

Neat-O. Also, you get to stand alongside Nanoblobs for being unacronymable (wtf does LLTA stand for anyways?).

TMM - The Madness Mod, maybe?

Edit: Since my computer at home sucks, I can't make any screenshots. So here is the only thing I can offer, a shot of the loading screen:

(old loading screen removed)

This is a logical conclusion. I will immediately reduce their HP by half!

But seriously, that nice to know. I was afraid big guys were very underpowered, cool that someone actually won with them.

Also, thanks for playing my mod, everyone!

edit: smoth, if you could use an anigif as a loading screen, I'd change it to that

edit2: now hosted on unknown-files for additional cool.

edit3: now with a hell of a lot more wiki

edit4: sorry about those games I hosted and then crashed out. My computer at home sucks and is prone to overheating. I'll host some more games at uni soon.

This sounds like an even more simplfied version of Nanoblobz. I gotta try it out.

Also it's nice to see a new modder show up with a mod and a bunch of crazy ideas, insted of just with a bunch of crazy ideas.

Someone should model you these four (or five) units.

As a point of interest it appears someone at UF didn't like your file linking offsite.

If someone want to, sure. Allthough I don't really plan on spending all too much time on this. I learned all the skills necessary and made this in one afternoon, and I'll balance it a bit and maybe add one or two features. But that's it, I think. I can't really imagine this getting madly popular, anyway.

Yeah, I just fixed that. Sorry IaMaCuP for not respecting your rules. I hope the file will be undeleted soon. Added backup link temporarily.

4 chan fail

also, its ok, the reason we dont want the info to be like "Click here for info" is becasue most people cant be arsed... and just dont get the mod unless they have to (eg someone tells them to in lobby or something)

This is Madness! Madness, I tell you!

New Version: 0.4

Changelog 0.3 -> 0.4
------------------------

() Reduced Arty Guys HP from 1200 to 600. He is really meant to be there to kill labs from a distance. If unprotected, he should be easily killable by Little Guys.

() Gave Worker Guy Radar. Adds depth to the game, as you might want to use a builder or two with your army to better plan an attack.

() Gave every unit a distinct icon. Little Guys are circles, Arty Guys are triangles, Big Guys are squares, and Worker Guys are half-circles. Now you can press tab and play the whole game in "icon mode". I love it.

() Fixed bug that minilabs were Commanders too.

() (Hopefully) fixed bug that units kept getting stuck in their labs. Wont help if everything is full of wreckage, though. You need a Worker Guy for stuff like that.

() Fixed bug that Worker Guys can assist factories. You shouldn't be able to focus on economy in this mod. It's all about the tactics, no strategy involved. You can still use two or more Builder Guys to build a Minilab faster, though.

() Removed some not needed stuff, filesize is now 0.5 megs.

Have fun with MADNESS!
