We've gone a long way since the latest beta, so here's an update.

Image
The CA updater makes it easy to keep your CA archive up-to-date: it incrementally downloads the .sdz's, so most updates after the first are in the hundreds of kilobytes range.

Image
Tech 1 turret re-balance. The LLTs can only be expected to stop Jeffies and Fleas. A couple of new anti-spam turrets have been introduced: the Scorcher and the Stardust, which replace BA's Beamer and HLLT. The Core's Scorcher has a heat ray, it does less damage as its range increases. HLTs have low rate of fire, high powered weapons. They can easily be swamped. No turret lasts long without mobile unit support. Behind enemy lines operations remain easy throughout the whole game, whether it is by running through lightly defended gaps, climbing rough terrain, or slipping though with the powerful cloakable units.

Image
Terraforming: Constructions units in CA can raise, lower and quickly restore terrain. Build walls that are scalable by K-Bots and not vehicles, or walls passable only to all-terrain units. Dig moats and place turrets on top of towers.

Image
New in-game interface. Be annoyed by (optional) pop-up tips, read detailed unit statistics and descriptions. Draw your allies' commands and change graphic settings in-game.

Image
All low range units can see further than they can shoot.

Image
The Commando can capture without nanospray and can place bombs in buildings. Counter-intrusion devices are tech 1.

Image
Experience unlocks upgrades.

Image
Tech 1 artillery projectiles have a high trajectory.

Image
Define custom formations by dragging the mouse.

Image
The Commander's cloak shield and stealth ability are much more affordable now.

Image
Many new models and effects.

You can now choose between voices and TA-style mechanical unit replies.

And much more!

You need to enable LuaUI to benefit from many of these features. You can check the "Enable LuaUI" box in Spring/settings.exe, or start LuaUI while in-game with the "/luaui reload" command.

Very cool.

Don't forget to use the CA console, it opens a GUI interface which lets you
access all graphical settings quickly and easily, such as shadows / shading / water details / reflection maps / and some other eye candy.

The mod also has my new Goliath and Instigator models :D

Looking forward to playing this.

Terraforming and new textures are by far the best features...

When I was playing the pre-releases with Lion and Liche, when the popup appeared I was like o.o COOL finally it appears.

You mentioned putting stuff into BA.. -.-

I hope you realise a majority of us want to stop playing BA and play better mods and you go and mention something that would improve BA by alot? ... Just no please :|

Terraforming is for the win. Hands down, this CA version is the best.

Kudos to you.

Also, for those of you who've been nagging the BA dev team to add spiffy new effects, you don't have to any more. Instead, you can check out CASLI, an AA/BA-styled mutator with many of CA's options.

Linux version is in consideration .. but you could make simple bash script to auto udpate too ..

(Hellcom is already working on this, I will put this on website once someone makes it :)

If you know svn you can try yourself, check this subversion folder http://snapshot.caspring.org/
