someone said i should write some words about this:
Welcome hokomoko!
You are now a spring developer! Beeing a dev is honoured more than having a ferrari, yacht and six-pack together. You've managed it, you've access to something were only very few people have access to! You're on the top of the food-chain!
You've access to the main spring git repository!
Welcome in the team! :)
To avoid confusion: hokomoko's username on github is ashdnazg.
[engine] developer team reinforcement!
Re: [engine] developer team reinforcement!
Well deserved and congrats.
Re: [engine] developer team reinforcement!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I would like to mention my parents, my friends and my pet hamster without whom none of this could happen.
I would also like to apologise in advance for everything I'm going to accidentally break.
P.S. I don't really own a pet hamster.

Re: [engine] developer team reinforcement!
Good news and good job! :-)
Can you tell a little about yourself?
Are you playing any spring game? Which game is your favorite? How long you know spring? What motivates you to develop smth in spring engine? Which part of engine is most interesting for you (I mean gui/pathing/lua etc)?
Thank you for all your commits!

I'm currently a CS/Physics/Teaching student in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.jamerlan wrote:Can you tell a little about yourself?
The short version is that I've been playing Spring: 1944 on and off for ~4 years, and started contributing to it a year ago.jamerlan wrote:Are you playing any spring game? Which game is your favorite? How long you know spring?
I've been playing Zero-K for slightly less than a year but haven't contributed there more than a line and a half of code.
I've also taken a small part in making Gravitas, the LD32 project, mostly in the sound/music department.
The long (and slightly sad) version can be found here
A good question, I had to think a bit before answeringjamerlan wrote:What motivates you to develop smth in spring engine?
I enjoy seeing the results of my work, and having other people enjoy these results. Spring as a mature engine is a platform that allows me to achieve interesting and complicated goals whether by contributing to a game or to the engine itself.
This may not be the answer to your question but I think the most remarkable thing in the engine is the sync/network code that allows 20 players on different hardware and OS to play games together, while being almost transparent to the game dev.jamerlan wrote:Which part of engine is most interesting for you (I mean gui/pathing/lua etc)?
Fortunately though, it already exists and works well, so I don't think that's a place I'm likely to contribute,

Can't seem to edit post.
Re: [engine] developer team reinforcement!
I wouldn't want to involve myself with needlessly complex projects, so for now I plan sticking to fixing bugs and adding small bits of code where they're needed.Super Mario wrote:What are you planning to develop anyways?

Great stuff, congratulations!
Hokomoko's a great person to work with, really polite while being knowledgeable, a rare combination.
