It's nice. Well arranged. Well done.

It should however, use less total war camera and close up shoots. I just dont get why every video editors have fallen in love with that. The game is mostly played overviewed and looks great from that angle, why not use it?

It's how every else rts games are filmed also.

Ouch, 10 Mb, that's nothing when it comes to quality video.

Oh, you said flv. I take it back :)

Adding videos to the frontpage works by uploading the video as attachment to a posting and then move that posting into the "Videos" subforum. Attachments are limited to 10 mb...
So I would like to add it but with just a link to youtube, vimeo etc I do not know how.

Sprang:
sorry, i accidently deleted your post while trying to add the video. This system is a bit stupid
What I did was "split" your post to a new thread in the "videos" forum - that deleted the attached file. I had downloaded it before so wanted to make a new thread, but attaching files in the "videos" is not allowed. So I made a new thread in "constributions", attached the file, moved it to "videos".
Is now here: http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=27193

It does not show up yet:
http://springrts.com/media.php?type=videos
Not sure if it just takes a while or something.

/edit
At least the zk video is now in the random video rotation on the frontpage.

No problem.

The vid still isn't in the video page btw, so probably not a matter of waiting more!

noticed videos also need a preview image to show up, so I added an (ugly) one. If you have a better picture upload please. Notice that the player on the frontpage adds a play button graphic while the gallery does not

as you maybe have already noticed youtube is now used for videos on the frontpage: https://github.com/spring/spring-websit ... dc3178091d

currently the media site does not list them, but i hopefully find the time to change that as well.

Why not use the original youtube uploads, they are in better quality too:

You know.. this trailer is nice and everything, but re-watching it i realised, how lousy that nuke mushroom is, compared to other rts..

Its not fault of whoever made them though.. the cutwork is excellent, its just BA-MovieMaterial Department Sfx not standing up to it.

Dont believe me?

Its actually quite doable.. all you need is a particlecloud of slowly colourdegenerating selfiluminated orange.. and some dusted sucked in..

Realistics would suck even though you can look in on the fireworks from above..

I'm not really impressed with those nuke examples. First one was underwhelming, second was pre-rendered, and third was real life anyway.
