I can. (just added the new cursed & evo banners)
I can edit the media gallery too but problem is, that simply works by moving threads. So if I would like to remove some threads, I would have to delete them or move them to the "spam box" where nobody will ever find them again. So should it get messed up or somebody does not like the result, it would be hard to restore.

For the content in http://springrts.com/media.php there could imo be even more old stuff - if it is interessting.
One screenshot of eg Air Raid (kdr's flight game) or zwzg's pacman show more about Spring than units-on-heightmap picture #87 even if neither is really playable. (for the average player who does not read the forum)
I also think all images should have a "stamp" with the games logo or name like http://springrts.com/screenshot.php?id=3432 or http://springrts.com/screenshot.php?id=5672
so that there is no confusion for players.
Imo also limit number of pictures per project to two.

tl;dr
need subforum for temp storing threads.

Licho, in star wars Ade it never disappeared because it never actually 'appeared'. Aside from the small minority given access there's no way of determining which version of photoshop generated those storm troopers.

It's making false claims on behalf of the engine and it's dishonest.

As for PURE, wether its working is irrelevant at the moment, Argh wants them down.

He has the POWER! In awe we stare!
Who is this godlike creature in green, able to lift kb heavy banners to the top of every page! Is it green lantern? No.
Is it "das Ampelmännchen"? No.
Who can it be?
ITs the Modman!

For those who didn't believe me when I said Arghs stuff ran on 0.82.7.1, you can see his shifting tree shaders, buildings, lighting shaders, etc
That's super pretty!
AF wrote:Arghs tech works in v0.82.7.1, I had it running earlier today, a lot of it should work in latest with very little changes from what I understand of it.

I can definitively say Argh would not object.
Would rather hear from Argh itself. Also, would he object big changes? :P

It matters if Argh contacted AF to say 'take down those banners'.

It matters rather less if AF contacted Argh saying 'Hey don't you think we should take down your banners?' and Argh replied 'Sure I guess'

Personally, I've started to simple ignore those banners as they don't show stuff that I can currently play with people, either by being work that hasn't been released/finished, or stuff that has long since been abandoned.
I would've preferred if it showcased few of the currently popular and available stuff (zerok and BA, and perhaps a select few others), and the same applies to the video (what is maximum annihilation?).

That is why I am saying af should help knorke get in touch with argh. That way there is no confusion.

Gajop, glad you are not the one making the decisions. You could go make some BA banners and videos instead of complaining about how others are not..

What's this BA you speak about? The banner should only shows Starcraft 2 banners and the whole Spring site redirect to Blizzard. It's not like there's any RTS with a decent playerbase beside Starcraft anyway.

Actually, Argh got in touch with me and some others involved in the P.U.R.E project.

I'll be releasing more details in time. Also knorke if you could get a hold of me on the lobby or send me an email address I can forward stuff on to you from?

True story :-)

Actually, irrc Supcom 2 did pretty good wrt playerbase. Maybe we should randomize whether it goes to blizzard, gpg, or maybe just for kicks, occasionally send people to midgetgoatporn.com :-)

who makes the decision what decision is official? ;) Imo it is in the interesst of every game to have its name on the picture in some form. It also shows that there are actually different projects.
And pictures should be limited so that there is more diversity.
eg I do think the dozen evo screenshots currently at top are a bit redundant. I added them because they were submitted and no pictures were being added for some time. But in future they should be some more strict guidelines..
just my idea though.

put some units on the map and so one picture shows multiple things at once

I agree, though I would also remind people of the controversy regarding the size of logos, and the initial submissions of banners with their OMGWTFHUGE logos, all in different places.

Logos should go in the bottom right of the banner. If they are in the top right it would be inconsistent, if they are on the top/bottom left, they will be truncated when the site is viewed below its maximum width (the banner image is aligned to the right, not the left).

A good guide on size is the evo RTS banners, although if they could be raised to be in line with the text block for consistency/alignment that would be even better.

Logos should never be taller than the block (currently 62px).

It should also be kept in mind that filling the available width while giving you a bigger logo, will lead to it being obscured by the text block when the browser is smaller than the maximum site width, so leave some room.

Also for design purposes, the block has a margin of 12 pixels, so keep a minimum of 12 pixels space between the edges of the banner and the logo itself.

How about the unit showing in the banner is not supposed to turn its ass towards the viewer? Also they need eyes, cameras, something like that. Faces catch viewers. Everyone remembers them troopers.
