Linux Settings Tool

Post by Kloot »

Because manually editing your .springrc file all the time isn't a lot of fun IMO, here's a slightly less ugly and slightly more cross-platform counterpart to the Windows RtsSettings program, Settings++. To run, just plonk it in a directory somewhere (doesn't matter which) and type "./Settings++" in a shell from within that directory. You only need a recent (2.10-ish) version of GTK and associated libraries, most of which should be installed by default.

Download here. (All feedback welcome, of course.)

Maximum texture stages seems to drop off-window in my ubuntu. I've done some font tweaks and other stuff that might mess that up but would be easier to make it 50px higher.

same here ;)

other than that, the shadowmap must actually be 1024 OR 2048, not between (if i understood correctly)

You should change maximum unit icon distance to 1000, and have boxes to manually type in the desired resolution.

Other than that, it's looking great!

Yep, indeed, forgot to thank you before.

Just 1 bug/non-included feature I can find; you have an option for dual-screen mode, yet you don't support dual-screen resolution in the drop down box. I would think that adding two user input boxes for the x & y resolutions will be best, instead of adding all the possible resolutions in the drop down box.

This is great, thanks. I hope it gets included into the next release.

I suppose that it would need to be GPL-licensed to be included.

I wouldnt mind bundling it with aflobby, a compiled version(already provided), source code and the command to execute it from shell is. I'd add it to the settings page along with a switch to run settings.exe on windows.

I'll slap a GPL sticker on the source and update some parts for 0.75, but the decision to include it isn't mine.

Could we get the source now? I need to build it for some x86-64 loving.

Could you include a make script, that I can upload it to openSuse build service and make some rpm packages.
I would do it myself but I have no KDevelop installed and would not know how to do this without it and with it  .
