0.89 on Linux?
When will I be able to upgrade Spring to 0.89? Haven't been able to play for the last days.
Re: 0.89 on Linux?
On "Linux" is way too broad. The answer then must be "once you've compiled it".
Re: 0.89 on Linux?
what koshi means it depends on the distribution
arch and ubuntu already have it from what i understood, and you can try the portable version that's posted somewhere here: http://zero-k.info/Forum/Thread/2887, but it may not work for you

Re: 0.89 on Linux?
I am running Ubuntu 12.10 and added the repo and it seems we only have .88, is there a chance we can get .89?

12.04 has 0.89, you sure you added the repo and did apt-get update/upgrade?
Re: 0.89 on Linux?
There is no .89 for 12.10, i'm very sure.
Re: 0.89 on Linux?
After some search I just found out that I had to manually update the repository for Spring. Then I could just upgrade from apt-get.liamdawe wrote:There is no .89 for 12.10, i'm very sure.

Re: 0.89 on Linux?
as exactly described in the linux install guide for ubuntu i am guessing?
did you not find it? or just search the software center and assume that version was ok?
not asking to troll you i am asking to see if instructions can be improved.

Yes. However the instructions at http://springrts.com/wiki/Ubuntu_install are making me a bit dizzy to be honest. Would prefer if the instructions were shown in a much more minimal way.forest_devil wrote:as exactly described in the linux install guide for ubuntu i am guessing?

I would like to see the "Updating to newer releases" paragraph shown in a bulleting list with numbers alone as the default install/update way.
Example:
Code: Select all
Install
1. Launch your favorite package manager (ex. Synaptic)
2. Add "ppa:spring/ppa" to the repository and update
3. Search for "spring" and install
Just throwing some ideas
