Debian Lenny AMD64 package for Spring and Spring Lobby

Post by umarzuki »

I made generate these binaries on my Debian Lenny AMD64 but they might work on all Debian based 64-bit distro. Of course you'll need both Spring (engine), SpringLobby (interface), game files and map.

Spring 0.80.4

SpringLobby 0.3-1:

Old binaries

Spring 0.80.2:

Spring 0.79.1:
http://rapidshare.com/files/262737937/s ... _amd64.deb

Note:
If you encountered dependencies problem, run command below as root

Code: Select all

apt-get install -f

As of now, C.R.A.I.G. (AI) doesn't seem to work with Spring:1944, so no single player (competitive) for that game.

Hope anyone can test these packages if they are working okay on your machine.

Works great, altho I had a little trouble getting the dependencies right first. Can you make a package of the new, 0.80.2 version?

RapidShare sucks. If you would like I can offer you some webspace to host the packages (upload via scp/sftp)).

Thanks a lot! I tried compiling, but got some error from wxwidgets, tried a repo, but it had dependency issues, this seems to work fine. (Haven't really tested it thurroughly, if i run to trouble later i'll post again.)

I did succeed in compiling spring rts(not the lobby) itself properly myself, should i be confident about that or .deb here anyway to prevent desyncs?

Do seem to notice an issue with springlobby. If i use my old ~/.spring folder, it slows everything down to a grind while heavily using the hard disk.. Seems like it is making a checksum of everything. It shouldn't behave like that(It should checksum before use, or at least checksum with better niceness as to not grind everything to a halt.), maybe i'll make/look for a bug report on the topic.
