Thanks for keeping us informed, devs!

Oh, yeah, you're welcome btw, don't mention it...jK wrote:It's also the first release with a MacOSX build.
Or try this thread, which provides a first SpringLobby build that runs on Snow Leopard...jK wrote:Currently no lobby is available for MacOSX, for the time being you can test weblobby.

Cool stuff! Thanks daftalx
Does it work on Lion?
Does it work on Lion?
Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
Spring does, the lobby apparently doesn't (haven't tried this out yet to isolate the problem). Whoever has feedback to give feel free to do so in the Mac forum.marciolino wrote:Does it work on Lion?

Big sorry ^^daftalx wrote:Oh, yeah, you're welcome btw, don't mention it...jK wrote:It's also the first release with a MacOSX build.Or try this thread, which provides a first SpringLobby build that runs on Snow Leopard...jK wrote:Currently no lobby is available for MacOSX, for the time being you can test weblobby.
I didn't followed the macosx story fully. Just read a few forum posts & chat discussions that were made and was totally happy when I saw a new buildbot column for macosx
So excuse me, that I don't know what happened between and what people were involved.
And that all know afaik w/o daftalx we would have zero macosx progress, so thank him!
PS: I expected a bit more information about runtime performance of the final build, I just cannot think that my _blind_ written macosx code works (compiling code != working code) >_<

Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
Luckily enough, most of the core code is multi-platform (though the Apple compiler is more strict regarding coding style). As usual, the pain comes with UI interaction (X11 + SDL). In the end not much hacking was needed (nor done by me alone), most of my part was to build, maintain and bundle (via MacPorts and buildbot) all dependencies libs into a standalone application (and testing around).jK wrote:PS: I expected a bit more information about runtime performance of the final build, I just cannot think that my _blind_ written macosx code works (compiling code != working code) >_<

Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
After allowing some java-web stuff... I still cant connect.
I got the message "Thank you for using Spring Web Lobby" and also the server/spring version correctly but my "connect" bouton stuck on "connecting..." and nothing happens.

SpringLobby seems work on Lion. But it cant load unitsync lib. Is it normal?
Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
CarRepairer, I am connected successfully via weblobby. I like this idea! If you can make applet => you can easily create stand alone cross-platform java lobby I like this idea! Is source code available on github or somewhere? I can help to improve your client.
Good Job!

Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
just wondering, does /reloadcegs work yet? It seems to do nothing.
/cheat is enabled.

Re: New release! Spring 83.0 is out!
/reloadcegs always does something (silently it causes explosion definitions to be ... reloaded), you just don't get to see any effect or a console message until at least one CEG has been spawned ingame.

i get this message if i click "connect" before windows asks me if i wish to trust the weblobby java plugin. if i then except, and click connect again, it works fine (maybe something like this has happened on your end)daftalx wrote:maybe that's just me, but i get a "java socket bridge can't connect until the applet has loaded"...CarRepairer wrote:Still waiting to hear from any mac users about weblobby

Jamerlan: contact me in the lobby now that you can login. In the meantime you can always view the source by clicking "view source" :p
Knorke: /reloadcegs worksforme. I'll add it to the ceg spawner widget.
