I'd name it 'forgotten conflict' because that's just what TA now is - forgotten, or forsaken, or whatever. Or, if you want a longer, and more definitive name, let's have a "Forgotten Conflict: Rise of the Machines".
Or, let's say - "Immortality: A War Eternal"
We could bind it to a storyline:
"In the past, people invented Immortality. They encased themselves in bodies of steel, living forever long, fearing no disase, no disaster, not even death itself. The steel people named themselves the Eternity Core and spread the knowledge among their kindred. Some were eager to accept the gift of endless life. And some were reluctant to give their own lives away, existing forever in a body of soulless steel. They called themselves the Shielding Arm, and strived to protect their followers from the attacks of Core machines. Using the knowledge of the Core, the people of Arm created machines that would replicate their finest warriors into an army that would uphold the Arm's military effort. Thus began a war eternal, an unending battle of Immortality."
Hmm... sounds a bit like TA's storyline, but only a bit. Could do fine, I'd say... any opinions?

Perhaps something like "The Aardvark - Spring" which can be conveniently shortened to something familiar. While it is probably a good idea to avoid using the name Total Annihilation, the letters TA can hardly be illegal to use.. Otherwise I would imagine Chris Taylor being in trouble for calling his next game SC. :)
Something with just Spring sounds ok too though imo.

Name
I'm a fan of the suggestions that don't contain references to either Total annihilation or the thin plot associated with it. We can name the game based on the engine something that has to do with that (that avoids legal issues), if we want, but the engine name should suggest what it is, the ultimate RTS engine.
