Spring 0.75b2 bugfix release

Post by Tobi »

Because there were some serious bugs in 0.75b1 that slipped through testing, we decided to do a quick bugfix release.

An updating installer will be offered through the lobby. There is also a full installer available which features an even better XTA v9.

The major bugs that were fixed in Spring itself can be found in the changelog.

Additionally this installer will downgrade SDL.dll to version 1.2.10 to fix the QWERTY/AZERTY issue many players have.

Source code is available as zip or tarball.

EDIT: IMPORTANT NOTE: there was a little accident while updating, all accounts info have been lost for last few days. We restored it back to sunday's backup, just before the 0.75b1 release. Any accounts created after sunday are lost, also if you renamed your account that info has been lost too. Sorry for the inconveniences!

Nice! I saw the upgrade some times before on the feed from fisheye. Thx, for quick update. Can you make a Linux .tar-package as the same before for 0.75b1, please.
Currently I´m learning how to use the opensuse build service to provide the community with the latest rpm packages. And not only "stable" releases. I hope that I can make some "unstable" releases like svn versions.

Hmm the changelog doesn't say anything about the cylinders with Start Position markers or about that the player names are now displayed above the markers!

Let the mods add them if they want, didn't your sounds cause a 50MB package? Spring itself shouldn't be that huge.

imho anything that is of some quality and free of atari's copyright should go in. size does matter, but not in this case 8)

bah... take your IP discussions elsewhere. this thread is reserved for giving our eternal gratitude for Tobi and all of the contributors for continuing to pour hours of their free time into the game we're all so obsessed over we'd rather argue about how to make it better than play!

wow... that was quite the run-on sentence. let me summarize:

Thanks Tobi!

The point is that if we want to replace the sounds it should be done with something that we are actually allowed to use, not just upsamplings of someone else's sounds.

Hello,

did you know if a .deb package is released by somebody ?

In osrts.info/~tvo/deb it's the 0.74b3

I have found an other where it's the 0.75b1, but not for 0.75b2
