Spring RTS Engine

Dear community,

I'm not sure if this is the place to complain about behavior of some people in BA hosts, but I'm surprised and shocked with the attitude of some people in this community, and, maybe with the moderators too, because searching a bit in forums, this is not the firs serious complain, and seems to be that nothing happens, endorsing this problem.

Today I was playing, as usual, and for non reason (at least I don't know why), [LOeT]Emission start to complain about my way to play. I must say that normally I ignore this kind of comments, but, seems that my silence only angry to [LOeT]Emission and he start to insult in a way that I can not let go. I understand a bad day, even I had my owns and in some opportunities I had dguned some teamates and always apologise, but never insult, denigrate and compare, aiming to the esteem of people.

I understand that you can find people that don't live the same reality and haven't same education that others, direct responsable of poor people live reflected in this attitudes, however, is matter of the community, and over all, of the moderators, delineate behaviors accurate of what we want for us, and to keep a minimum of order.

All this links, are about the behaviour of [LOeT]Emission, 6 complete posts, and seems to be that no one make nothing about it. Please some moderator let me know if this is alowed, to not losse time complaing about this things again.

Plus this, I want to say that someone, I don't have a clue who, have used my name few times, or he have registered a name pretty similar as mine, and people get confuse, and start to play as he were me, I think that he make some little change in name (a space for example) that allow he to use my nick, let me say that is not funny at all, so please, if you can (moderators and developers), make some rules to void that in future.

It's not that nothing is made of it, for example http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30074, but autohost admins don't 'inform the community' when someone recieves warning or punishment (and rightly so).

The spring forums are not the best place to ask for a host admin/moderator to take action since autohosts are managed individually and not by the spring moderators; you should discuss it in private with an autohost admin. Pm the host and type !admins to see a list of their names.

That comes to the NEXT problem... you ban a guy and then he go cry on forums.... so there is no chance against that...

Did you actually test this? It's not true.

Workaround for cases it's true: http://replays.springrts.com/player/ACCOUNTID/ will give you the players name.

+1, I would say the opposite : Few autohosts gives id instead of nicks.

I already had this kind of behavior with a [s3]....
These conflict situations are unfortunate.
Keep in mind that more games will be important in terms of number of players and / or spectators, the more it attracts this kind of behavior, because some players here needs to blame without restraint to make themselves interesting.

I don't have the magic way to avoid this.
However, I have a tip just because I don't wanna suffer this again.
To have peace, I avoid this kind of games with many players crowded on each others to unsuitable maps most of the time.
That gameplay is an uninteresting one on technical side : Everyone do its own little word in its corner in general, or combine by 2 or 3 just because there is not really room for start.

But just when you need help, need a real team play in fact, you will recover yourself faced several situations : We will help you, we will turn a deaf ear (don't want to help, want to tech absolutely...), and the most unfortunate way because you have "disturbed the grind the tech" or other reason : We will blame you.

The crawd effect !

I have no advice to give you, but keep this inhuman (more than 4v4 I think) kind of game away.
That won't bring you something valuable, and even less on the technical level. Players mind is also not the same on such games.

You will have more fun on smallest games, that's true.
You will fell better with quality games.

Just ignore him and start a kickban vote. If the rest of players are even worth your time they should vote yes.
