And since the person who hosts it made a lot of (empty, so far) threats I won't be surprised if the sole reason of it is for password fishing.

if it was using a custom server or requiring registrations, then worry might be necessary.
stock? no.

especially because I have access to the server and tell you there is no password sniffing going on ;)

How hard is it to run a packet sniffer? Spring's password hashing scheme is not secure. You can take that hash and log into the main TASServer. To be secure you'd need a random salt or ideally, SRP.

I think mightsheep was banned for generalized anoyage, and if not at least thats what he used to do :)

He's banned because he can't seem to be able to act appropriately in #main, and every time he got muted he'd mute dodge until finally we had to take stronger actions.
