Sdkfz 250/9 replaced better known Sdkfz 222 due to better cross country mobility in russia.

This was a typical German vehicle, halftracks were very common in their army. Sd.Kfz.222 was obsolete by the start of war anyway, so it was replaced with sd.kfz.250 and sd.kfz.231, 232, 234 (all of which had many modifications).

If there is so few "metal" patches, how much will the flags "extract?"

Man, I *love* the lighting on this map. It makes stuff look super super spiffy.

Looks good, but I'm not a fan of the writing. It looks very word-edited, not hand painted, and unusually large. IMO you want to avoid big individualistic things like that because it ruins the immersive nature of the game (ie: why would they have painted the same huge slogan on the side of every tank? etc).

And, I'm guessing I'd be better off not translating it ;P

Also, what is the strange brown thing capping off the top of the sdkfz250? That looks quite strange... Remember that most of the time the thing will be viewed from top-down, so it could end up looking pretty funky.

I've never seen such a slogan on a Soviet tank. This one reads "Kill all the nazis". They usually were more like "Death to all the fascists" because the word Nazi wasn't used much in USSR (it is the abbreviation of National-Socialist and Soviets didn't want to assotiate "socialist" with the bad guys).
Othere popular slogans were "For Motherland", "For Stalin", "Death to German invaders". Some tanks had names rather than slogans, like "The Sniper". This one has name "Leningradets" - the citizen of Leningrad:

It's probably possible to have a few different names show up on tanks by having several pieces with name drawn and then randomly showing 1 of them at unit creation.

these tanks are awesome.
from the last alpha, imo there should be a tech tree of tanks. it shouldnt be possible to build a vehicle factroy and just pump out the best tank avalaible 10 minutes in..

The skin looks really nice (though I have to agree the text is a bit big), and so does the Sd.Kfz. 250.

I see Spring is still mirroring models... Ah well, its not completely accurate, but its not like anyone is really going to notice. (though on second thought, allot of total nerds play this game :P)

Yeah. But it's relatively easy to fix, as I've done so:

(fixed writing too -- is that correct, Yuritch?)

(yes, there's the finished T-34/76 too)

Might be a much, but maybe have those faces placed under the name 'tankGraf' or something and have likethis:

Code: Select all

Create()
{

   tank_rand =  rand(1,5);
   if (tank_rand == 5)
   {
      show tankGraf_1;
   }

   else if (tank_rand == 4)
  {
    show tankGraf_2
  }

  etc etc.
}
for a little variation.

Lol

All I did was do the 76 turret, and then change colour saturation to make it a different shade of green :P Otherwise it's the exact same skin.

Dash, go on Lobby or MSN more often!

Soviet stuff done so far:

Pretty much all within the last two weeks. Except the truck. And the ISU-152. And the best part is I didn't model any of them. Except the truck. Which I'm glad for.

Remove the letter "K" and it will be correct. It should be "Смерть фашизму!".
