You just need to download this version of Spring. By the way, welcom to the community and enjoy playing Spring. You'll find that...most of us are...semi-helpfull. But find some games and play them. Have fun.

Hi all! Just wanted to say that school is more than I anticipated right now so work on the mod has been slow, have got some wreckage models done and such and other things that add polish. October release is still a possibility tho!
Perhaps ill have something new to show this weekend.

hi..
i like ur idea..
but note that there is a mod with mechs already..
gundam... i didnt play it much but people say its pretty good...
Id like to throw idea at u..
how about making the game res free?
or say only e dependant...
im thinking labs that will produce a unit at a certain rate as long as the building is standing and is on...
but make it so that u cant build tens of con labs..
so what ull have is a game concentrated on war.. and outposts of energy..
geos maybe...
these will be the important points...
and ull win by using many verietis of units correctly.that of curse means
a huge diversity in unit capabilities and big diff between each unit..
maybe emphasize tactical style gameplay..
were u can easily flank and have real disadvantage when flanked...
im mean the flanking of forces... not bases..
so u have like a tnk for example that turnes around really slow..
the barrel i mean.. and when flaked will be shot at without possibilty to return fire for a long time..stuff like these..
anyways thanks for reading.

Hey all!
Sorry for the delay, I've been really swamped by school and all kinds of shit and really havent had the time or motivation to make alot of progress but im getting my spirit back now, especially after looking at the new map format screenies and stuff. Here are some screenshots from a playtest i did today on lathans excellent severnaya map. There were some concerns about playtest, the ai built lots of rocket arty and scattered them around the map so getting seen was a big issue as it could meen rocket rain of death :P But it was my fault really, i was simply not expanding enough. With my mod you really have to wrestle hold of every single mex spot if you want to keep on top, turtling up wont simply work. I dont know how the ai managed to get to tech level 2 this easy this time but it really increased the challange.
A new gear is also ingame, the southern Black Mamba heavy gear, which is an improved general purpose gear. Not 100% done but close enough.

Here comes the pics:

Ill prepared assault, a.k.a. there were really many klemms and jaxons waiting

The Gear in the Snow shot is really really great.

Will this mod have nukes? It better...

Just so we can put some Arugh Nuke explosions around.

Is there a functional version of this mod available, or even a preview? If not, ETA? And if there is, who would I ask for permission to put it in the mod pack?

No, there is no functional version out yet. No demo either. ETA.. well.. perhaps october sometime or november or something. Close but still some things to do and i havent had much time.
I would be the person to ask :P But we'll see what is relevant once it has been released. Im ofcourse hoping it will take off on its own but if not a placement in a mod pack would ofcourse help. Still, the filesize will not be terribly small...

Centurion, don't worry about release dates... just tell people, "when it's done". That's what I always do 8)

There wasn't a Heavy Gear RTS yet, this is the first to come :)
Only two games were made for the PC (correct me if I'm wrong) and they were sort of Mech Warrior'ish action games with horrid controls. But they have been ported to mac IIRC.

That mech looks like Gundam meets Captain Mainwaring (pronounced 'mannering' for you uncultured dolts).
