This might serve as an inspiration to some...

This is Evo, 5.5 years ago. I actually have the sd7 if anyone wants it for the sake of nostalgia.

And this is evo a couple of months ago...

If a no-talent ass-clown like me can make that transformation happen (with a metric boatload of help from 99% of the people in this community and with kaiserj's awesome skillset), imagine what you can do!

5.5 years to add textures?
meh!

Joking aside, I think development probably goes faster once you get things going. The beginning is the hard part, and perhaps a bit too hard.

I just managed to import a boar from 0ad into Spring (using Flozi's C module) and have it render and scale properly (with textures). It took me 4~ hours to do this (most of it spent in figuring out basic things). For the next unit it would probably take me less than 5mins.

I want an SDK that can import assets with a drag-and-drop level of difficulty.

Nice pics, I feel similarly with BAR.

Implementing skeletal animations in 4h would've felt like an achievement.

Well from the way you said it, it could be taken to have been carrepaired limb by limb rather than that.

I would not say that. Comparing age to 0083.. 0083 wins.
