Idea: Upgradeable commander

If you play supreme commander before than you are familiar with the upgradable commander. This type of feature should be in this game because the commanders die too fast when being overwhelm. It should have features like:
missile upgrade
laser upgrade
construction upgrade with new tecks
Resouce upgrade
and so on.
(this time in the right section!)

a lot of mods already have this, to some extent. ^_^ buuuuut probs not as much as supcom.

In CA, many units can buy upgrade with veterancy. I could have sworn the commander had upgrade in old CA version too.

Anyway, upgradable commander is possible even under old Totala.exe engine, (It was done by at least three mods: Talon, TAWP, and Devolution), so I you don't find them in the Spring mod you play, I am confident it's neither because they never though about it nor because it is impossible.

The Spring engine already supports this feature.

What people have been talking about is Spring Games (and Spring Mods) that do (or do not) already take advantage of it.

Since the option is already there they are asking which specific Spring Game you are saying would benefit from it.

What should be obvious and these guys are snickering (or grumbling) about behind your back is that you seem to not realize that your preferred game, Balanced Annihilation, is *not* the only game on the Spring Engine, and many other Spring games already use upgradeable commanders.

Of course, that doesn't really matter, since nobody plays any of the other games.

And if you're asking them to add such a feature to BA, the answer is no. They don't change BA based on n00b requests, and they try not to change BA at all if they can, since it's nice to have stable gameplay.

I did not say BA is my prefer game (Or mod) and I know there are other games. (or mod)

I was talking about the mods of TA not just BA also there is only ONE commander upgrade to your commander (In some mods). I already try the other mods I heard about and it gives you only one com upgrade JUST ONE. Are you calling me a noob because of the idea that you consider dumb? Just because you think the idea is dumb doesn't gives you the right to call anybody a noob. Also what's wrong with modifying or improving BA anyway? Just use the old versions if you don't like it.

You are a newbie, it's not anything bad, don't get defensive, but read previous posts a bit more.
XTA only has one upgrade at a time, yes, but it has multiple layers to it. You can also see around that some units can morph into multiple options.
CA might be getting a supcom-like system if I get around to it here... And changing things around like that just isn't how BA rolls.

some people in the xta community were talking of different comm upgrades eg sea comm with torpedo etc

You can slap shields or missiles on the Titan in CvC, really old mod.
