"H4x", the 1-Hour Mod

I made a mod. It's quite simple, really. I spent about an hour on it. It's called "H4x" because I couldn't really think of a better name for it.

Three units: Core, Bot, and Blocker. All of them are stationary and can not move. Core is very large, very powerful, serves as starting unit. It builds Bots and Blockers (short build radius). Bots also build more Bots as well as Blockers, and have standard offense. Blockers have strong offense (not as good as the Core units', though), but can not build.

Basically all you have to do is spam-build Bots and Blockers strategically to devour and destroy your opponent's units while spreading forward. If you don't understand, you will when you play. Also, resources are a non-issue; everything costs 0 metal/energy, and creates and stores the stuff -- even losing your Core unit won't fuck you (unless you put on Comm Ends).

I figured there might be people out there that'd like to play this. It's kinda like a cross between KP and Minesweeper, somehow. Give it a try, or bitch, doesn't really matter, I didn't make it for fame or notoriety, just boredom.

Ciao.

UNPLAYABLE -> with repeat on(and order to build two or more Big Blocks) and immobile Builder lua widget cause NanoBlocks instantly heal damaged blocks and if all players have this the game cant end!!!

I just used Ctrl+A and Shift which helped me expand fast. When i encountered enemy i placed big boxes and kept rebuilding them. We were just standing there -.-

Made me think of Go and Game of Life. The problem is that both of these have better rules for piece interaction. Perhaps you could Lua something to make pieces expand automatically and have the player drop them at distant places with some goal to grow the colony in a way that you win?

Great idea if you tweak it a bit :).

probelm is not in the diversity of blocks.. but in lack of startegy and clumsy controls..
Rules of engagment and build need to be changed.

Problem is the mod was meant as a joke, and as such, I'm very pleased with the results. :D

Complain, my minions! Complain!

*waits for Balanced H4x*

Already been done, albeit using TA units, in a mod called Swarm.

Swarm sucked.
