Spring RTS Engine

Hello i recently rediscovered the map editor named spring map edit written in java, i do not use it specifically but the only thing i tried didnt worked.

i cant export new changes after importing .smf even after saving it, files overwritten map doesnt change the height when i put higher map height in map properties, its only visible in the editor, i tried so save smf and export in png, i not tried export in .raw cause i never used this format ...

I'm not affiliated with Spring Map Edit (SME). You should be talking to aeonios or Code_Man about that.

Mapheight should be defined in your mapinfo.lua file, not from within sme.

Also make sure you are using the latest version from hosted on springfiles, not frostregens version.

I'm interested in mapmaking too.

What's the recommended approach to making spring maps these days?

YOu need absolutly search google i retrieved dozen of , tutos, softwares commonly used, documentation, code, persons, and only using essentially springrts page and sites, i can recommand you strongly springmapedit but i use earthsculptor, springboard, paint++ etc
