Need some help with Mapping :)

Post by exciter »

Hey,

I started to create my first map...

It is loaded successfully ingame, but I've got 2 questions:

1.) The minimap isnt showing my map correctly ingame. How can I fix this?

2.) The ingame texture looks more ugly than the real one I made!?

Thanks a lot and best regards,
exciter

I had this problem with SME with my ATI 3400 Mobility Chip. The only work around is to create your own minimap image. I can't visualize the menus at the moment but there's a option in SME to do that.

The other option is to ask a kind soul to compile the map for you.

Yeah I don't mind doing it in SME if you already have all the maps. My PC can easily do it.

I would scale your texture map and use that.

Did you scale it in gimp/photoshop to the proper size?

edit: oops, sorry, didn't see the question related to an error like that

also for testing, instead of creating an archive, you can create a sdd folder

Code: Select all

spring/maps/mynewmap.sdd/maps
and then plop all of your files in there. once you're sure everything is good, create an archive with 7zip, test, and release!

good luck

used paint.net to scale to 1024x1024 (DXT 1) DDS file with default settings... So, isnt that right? ;-)

Sounds right to me. Hard to tell what's going on without being there.
